a)  What is the variable to study?
Ans.: The variable to study is the maximum temperature of a random day.
b)  What is the population to study?
Ans.: The population to study is the temperature of 10 days during the year.
c)  What are the statistical units?
Ans.: The statistical unit is the maximum temperature of particular day expressed in degree celcius.
d)  Find the average maximum temperature for the measures taken.
Ans.: Average maximum temperature is given by,
deg. celcius
e)  Find the median for the measures taken
Ans.: Since, there are 10 measurements, the median is same as 10/2th i.e. 5th measurement i.e. median is 30 deg. Celcius.
f)  Find the standard deviation of the measurements taken, Show your calculations.
Ans.: The standard deviation () is given by,
Were, N is total number of samples, gives individual temperature readings, is their mean/average value.
=
Thus, standard deviation is 11.4455.
