1. This assignment is about making connectionsbetweentexts and/or puttingtwotexts in conversation with each other.

2. You will be putting togetherthreepairs of passages; that'ssixpassages all together.

3. The passages must be selected from the four assigned texts, which are Tolentino and the three linked to in this week's module.

4. The passages in each pair must come from different texts, i.e. you can't have a pair of passages from the same text.

5. You must use a passage from each of the four texts in this assignment; you can double (or triple) up for the last two passages, i.e. those are wildcards, as long as they come from one of the assigned texts.

6. You must cite, using MLA style, all the passages, either up front or within your discussion (see below).

7. The idea is that within each pair one passagechallenges, questions, amplifies, or complicates the other. OR, perhaps, the two passages work together to create a third point, idea, way of seeing or understanding.

8. In each of three cases (each case being a pair of passages), you should explain why you chose the passages you chose and how they connect to each other and/ or how they speak to each other to create new/better meaning.

9. In addition to the quoted material, each of the three cases will require at least a couple of sentences of explanation and analysis.
