We have been observing the Pitt Fitness exercise for the past 5 weeks. In this unit we are to share with each student the benefits of Pitt Fitness moving their database to the cloud. Let’s get started here.

One of the frequently cited benefits of cloud database is its scalability. Cloud database is much more affordable and efficient, and it offers more affordable and efficient processing and storage expansion based on its requirements. Cloud database is much faster and simpler to set up, which at the end helps save time.

When we look at the in-house database system,we know one of the requirements is to have an administrator to run the administrations tasks, alone with maintenance, such as patches, upgrades, etc. On the other hand, cloud database eliminates the need for having an administrator. Additionally, having a cloud database system, it will benefit the administrators because they would be able to focus on other important tasks rather than the administrative tasks if they were to have an in-house database system.

Moreover, having cloud database system would enable security for Pitt Fitness. One common factor in an in-house database system is that there are not enough security mechanisms that are implemented by the users. The cloud-database provider will be responsible for the database security of Pitt Fitness that is stored on their servers. Keep in mind if Pitt Fitness decides to use services from a cloud database provider, the provider will ensure the data is kept secure confidentiality and security is imperative to sustain Pitt Fitness’ confidence in the provider.

CREATE TABLE Classes (Location NOT NULL, CHECK)

(Location IN ('Location 1' ,'Location 2', 'Location 3')))

In the above example, a table for CLASSES has been created. If the columns do not contain at least one value from the constraint, an error would generate. The user would be required to enter only one place out of the three options (as in locations) available with the restriction mentioned above. The SQL statement used in this example will not allow the user to enter any values other than the one mentioned in the SQL statement.

tt Fitness would like to debate the difference between in-house and a cloud database. An in-house database has a stable connection to private information and can lead to more protection. There are two advantages to in-house advantages, which are data assurance and accessibility (Mowery, 2018). Data assurance is a way to maintain privacy and security to specific data. When it comes to accessibility, the in-house database is on the premise itself. Cloud data is anywhere.

A cloud database is a database that is basically wireless and can go anywhere. There are multiple benefits to a cloud database, such as improved agility and innovation, ease to set up, reduced risks, and lesser cost (Oracle, n.d.). Cloud databases are easy to create and take down and move on to the next step within a business. This type of database can be created quickly without hardware and shipping. Cloud databases can also be a public, private, or hybrid build. There are many things this database can do, including data collection, data mining, show descriptive analytics, predicting analytics, and show visualization.

This is what Pitt fitness is looking forward to if they switch from an in-house database to a cloud database. Cloud databases can be managed by self-management, automated, and autonomously. So, it has a lot of options, if need be, to make a decent cloud database and bring it wherever it needs to go. If Pitt Fitness moves location, then the cloud could just follow them wirelessly with no issue.

The cloud is a most important aspect of storing the data nowadays. In this post it shares th
e benefits of having cloud database. The cloud database is famous because of its scalability and efficiency. It is affordable and provides efficient processing and storage for the data as per requirements. The data access ability is faster to save the time. There are few extra loads on the in-house database which can be eliminated with the cloud database. It is beneficial for the administrator as...
