Introduction
In context of the current situation of environmental protection consciousness and
worldwide initiatives towards mitigation of Global Warming influences, it can be
considered that global warming issues are under prime attention agendas of the global
economies. Specific resear
ches and observations have facilitated comprehensive
analysis of the potential causes and influences of the global warming issue. It has been
validated in studies that the main source of the global warming is the rising
concentration of green house gases in different levels of atmosphere, which eventually
causes an estimate increase of 0.13 degree per decade, in the temperature of the
atmosphere. Till the time of end of the century, it has been projected to have uplift in the
temperature rise from 1.1 degree to 6.4 degree. (Raey, 2010)
Persistence of global warming influences has cause several detrimental climate
changes, which has drastically affected the human life and natural environmental
system. Specific climate change influence has been acknowledged by the global
community in form of aggravated water scarcity, threatening food insecurity, declining
agricultural productivity problems, hindered human health and inconsistent economic
growth and developments. Most of such climate changes follow the hierarchal pattern of
existence and influences, where existence of a specific climate change factor enhances
the possibilities of existence of another related climate change influences; like change in
water supply preposition severely affects the agricultural productivity and food security
of specific region.

In consideration to such vivid detrimental affects of the global warming and
climate change factors over global environment and human development prospects, an
exclusive research has been performed in consideration to the specific region of global
economy, i.e. Saudi Arabia Kingdom. Specifically guided approach has been taken to
perform the comprehensive evaluation and analysis of the influence of global warming
or climate change over the natural, human and environmental system of the Arab region
(Saudi Arabia Kingdom).
Such evaluation efforts defines the scope of analysis in form of analysis of impact
on precipitation and temperature of Arab region, and the assessment of influence on
environmental components like influence on water resource, food security and
agriculture, seal level rise causing erosion and coastal inundation and public health
issues, etc. Later part of paper comprises an exploratory assessment of the natural and
human system, in considerate on to their adaption concerns with global warming, and
proactive initiatives taken by the government, regulatory authorities and general public
to prevent or mitigate the negative influences of the global warming.
Country Profile: Saudi Arabia Kingdom
Overall geographical spread of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) or Saudi Arabia
Kingdom is considered to be expanded in around 200 million square kilometers, which
constitutes almost 80% of the Arabian region. Country is among one of the major oil and
gas producer of the world and comprises population of almost 2,537 million individuals.
Overall coastal area of the Saudi Arabia Kingdom is considered to be spread in 2410
kilometers, where Res sea coastal area is 1760 kilometers long. Specific ecological

system of the country is considered to be comprised of 35 square kilometers of
Mangroves and 1480 square kilometers of coral reefs. (FAO, 2009)
Overall climate of the Saudi Arabia Kingdom can be classified under semiarid to
hyper arid climate. Due to high evaporation of water (because of high temperature) and
low rainfall, overall country suffers with the problem of water scarcity and lower
agricultural productivity. Forestlands are also very limited which generally appears to be
spread in area of 2.7 million hectares. Comprehensive analysis of fertile land share
results that mere 2% of the land area of country is suitable for agricultural activities.
(FAO, 2009)
Due to high degree of industrialization and concentric development of energy
sector industries, the overall share of CO2 emission gets in accounts of energy sector
industry, where both collectively constitutes around 98% of CO2 emission (energy
sector: 90% and industrial sector: 8%). As agricultural sector has minimal scope and
relative influence in GDP, thus proportionately its influence also gets restricted (2% of
overall CO2 emission). As CO2 is that main constituents of green house gases thus
exerts detrimental impact on the environmental and ecological balances. Specific
climate change influences and relative impact of global warming on the social,
economic growth and environmental protection aspects can have detailed explanation
in next part.
Observed Climate Variations caused by Global Warming
Overall climate variations are generally measured in accordance to that of the
differences in the mean state and current situation of region specific climate. Specific

changes in climatic situations are caused either because of the natural variations or
from the human activities. From the time of industrial revolution, concentration of green
house gases, like CO2 etc has got enhanced, which has induced increasing concerns of
global community towards global warming issues. Major increase in the CO2 level is
considered to be...
