Scenario Overview Consider yourself as part of a team responsible for managing the operations of an emergency department of a public hospital. The emergency department has received feedback from patients suggesting that the patient wait times need to be improved. The value stream map of the current operations is shown in the attached diagram. “You have been tasked with improving patient turnaround time by reducing the current time to half”. To complete the task you are required to “identify the various System Archetypes that affect the operations of the hospital and the emergency department itself” and based on the archetypes, develop a future State Value Stream Map of the emergency department. You will require to identify and critically analyse the intended and unintended consequences, recommending holistic solutions that will optimise the operations of the emergency department without compromising the performance of other functions of the hospital. 1. Introduction/Background
The study describes the emergency department of a hospital that is driven to fulfill the primary goal for serving quality services in the emergency situation. It includes enforcing the objective for hospital management for engaging staff in the effective operation management for getting the desired result. The study includes information about drawbacks and advantages of implementation of this technology. It includes managing the technology for implementation and it can help in decreasing the time of waiting. At last, recommendations are provided for improving the value stream mapping that can help in improving the process.

The value stream map is required for analyzing and describing the current situation for the process of the emergency department. The aim of this model is to highlight the business process along with the reduction of the maximum flow of efficiency into healthcare operations in the emergency department. According to the provided state value stream model, In the Archetype system includes the application of two separate aspects that includes prospective application and the diagnostic application. Both types of application are required for utilizing the measures along with the performance standards of department and staff (Wee et al. 2020). The system has been developed well and it can be utilized for the improvement of the existing system of the information flow, emergency room and the performance standards of the hospital. It provides a common way of looking into the behavioral outcome for the organization.
