a relatively high boiling point,
ii) high specific heat, 
iii) cohesion, adhesion and density.
2. Ice is less denser than water because the orientation of hydrogen bonds causes molecules to push farther apart, which lowers the density. Because of this for same mass, ice occupies more space. Since volume increases without increase in weight, the density of ice is lower.
