Article 1
    The level of evidence is V for article 1 was based on systematic reviews; data were collected from participants through descriptive methods. The study design was qualitative. New models proposed by the author.
Article 2
    The level of evidence is II for article 2. The study was conducted by controlled trial. The study design was qualitative. The author conducted interview sessions with the participants.
Critical analysis of Article 1
The report title provided by the author is clear to understand the aspect he is going to discuss. The author is a medical Scientist with Ph.D. or MD degree. Supported self-management system can be carried out by providing support or guidance to the patients from external sources. According to Pinnock, 2015, self-management and education have been the key factor in treating patients with asthma properly. The introduction of the article clearly specifies the importance of guided or supported self-management.
The introduction of the article explains the challenges regarding supported self-management in using inhalers. There are different types of inhalers available in medical stores. The common ones have been MDI or metered dosed inhalers, dry powder inhalers or DPI, and breath-actuated inhalers or BAI. Self-management has been required for each of the inhalers. For asthma, it has been found that MDI and DPI have been the appropriate ones (Jahedi et al., 2017). The nresearch problem has been well established in this article.
The statistics of the article shows that, the timing of inhalation should coordinate with actuation so that all of the medicines get deposited to the lungs. Self-management should not be an extra activity rather it should be an integral part of asthma management. The medical brands avail their products with proper actuation.
According to the method, they provided a well-documented or well-described demonstration attached to each of the devices. They also proposed some strategies in using inhalers. The author believed that self-management of asthma should be supported by regular reviews from the professionals. It can improve the disease as well as can reduce exacerbations along with admissions to the hospitals. The author suggested the significant role of the health care professionals in comprehending the patients about the utilization of the inhalers so that they could get quality of life.
Thus, the author believed in self-management education that should be delivered to the patients orally as well as in written documentation. Health care professionals should make strategies to make the patients aware of deterioration and proper actions to take in preventing deteriorative measures. Successful implementation of the strategies should be dependent on the proper education of the patients. Thus, the skills of the professionals are very much important. Apart from this, commitment should also be there from the professionals so that they can support the patients and motivate them in practicing the inhalers properly.
