Brief Overview
Human beings are literally
wired to their emotional responses.
Understanding emotional development is typical psychological process.
During zero to three years, there are five stages of emotional development.
Human beings learn from their observation as well as from their emotional reactions. In fact, these emotions keep people bound to each other either positively or negatively. This complex process of emotional development goes through many stages in life and the foundation of the same is laid during zero to three years of life.

Prenatal to Three Months
The first stage of emotional development during zero to three is prenatal stage.
During this period, infants begin to respond to the emotional responses of other people.
Infants grow sensitive to touch, smell and they develop bonds of trust.
In this first phase of life, children actually develop the first bond of emotional responses to other individuals. Especially, they become prone to sense of touch. They reflect it through laughs or cries. This is the first emotional reaction of infants which leads to their introduction to the world of emotions as they have yet to learn a great deal of emotional reactions. They still have to learn about how to control and process their emotions.
