The Active Directory can be used as the centralised repository or the database for storing information about the resources, groups and the users. It can store information about the resources like printers, shared folders or any other file. These are all similar to the objects of Active Directory or we can say collection of the objects present in the AD. The Active Directory domain service is used to provide authentication for all the services in our network. For example, whenever we try to login into the enterprise network then the client will send a request to the server known as the login request and the server will check for the credentials into the database (Swan, Michael Jon).
