After reading the selection "Invisible Man," it would appear that open defiance was a dangerous approach to the troubling issue of race in the Jim Crow South. Is it therefore wrong to take the easy way out, if choosing any other course is going to mean that you get beaten into submission or even killed? One of the most prolific books is Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison as it describes socially and politically turbulent atmosphere. It emphasises on one of the most African- American experience, hence can be categorized as one the definitive novels for all the people especially living in America. Indeed, as described in the book, it seems to appear that open defiance can be considered as very dangerous method to approach the issue of race in the Jim Crow South. The issue or concerns that Ellison compelling address are those which are experienced by everyone who survive in the modern conflicted era.
