Directions:Your task is to watch 30 minutes of an action/adventure (e.g., Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead) or animated TV program. As you watch the program, count every instance of aggression. In addition, you will be doing a simple content analysis. A content analysis is a systematic, objective description of a communication. List each act of aggression and then code each act of aggression as to whether it is a physical act of aggression (e.g., striking someone) or a verbal act of aggression (e.g., insulting someone or making derogatory remarks). Also indicate the sex of the perpetrator of the aggression and of the victim, and indicate whether or not a weapon is involved. Finally, rate whether or not the aggression is rewarded in some way (the perpetrator gains something or is approved of by others for aggressing), whether it is punished, or whether there is no consequence to the aggression.
