AMPK is the AMP activated protein kinase plays crucial role in altering cell signalling in accordance to the change in the levels of AMP. It is worth mentioning that AMPK performs the role of intracellular energy sensor controlling and ensuring appropriate energy balance within the cell. The findings showed that change in the levels of AMP influences and determine activation of leptin and adiponectin in muscles and liver evidencing control of peripheral tissues.
