Introduction
The world as we know it keeps changing a
t a rate faster than ever in accordance with the ever developing technologies and systems, which reflects directly on the attitudes and mindset of the new generations of workforce. For building strategies that are strong and active in the workplace trend analysis of future of work is crucial. Huge changes can be noticed in today’s employment scene in comparison to earlier employment scene and it will keep changing at an ever increasing rate. What becomes important is to know and understand the changes. Waiting to see what happens is no longer a luxury the new age companies can afford. Organizations need to be prepared for the major changes in trend in work that are to come.
Analysis of Future Work Trends in Relation to Human Resource and Employment
The new age workforce, the new attitudes, the technologies, globalization all these factors are play an essential role in shaping the contemporary and future work trends. And the companies who fail to adapt to the changes will inevitably fail. An important and prominent change we can see is the coming shift of the control. As opined by Ning (2019), the talented individuals have now more control and drive over how the work gets done in contrast to the age old custom of hierarchy where the rules are set up by the business executives which gets passed down to the managers which has to be followed them and the employees under them. Dan pink has aptly put it as, “Talented people need organizations less than organizations need talented people.” Putting it simply, the decisions and conversations regarding the job and how it’s going to be done, when and by whom, the technology to be used for the job and so on are slowly starting to be taken more by the employees. The future of work will be characterized by the emergence of bold collaborations between organizations, inventive and fast delegation and shared responsibilities and better leveraging of the surrounding and technology for optimized performance in work. There’s been emergence of ‘agile organizations’, resulting from the enormous competition and collaborations. These organizations can seize the advantages that progressing technology brings with it and work cross culturally and are nimble in moving into the market.
