Primary Principles of Piaget's and Vygotsky's Theories
Piaget’s theory for child’s cognitive development considers the transition from young to an adult individual through consecutive stages and these stages are universal. Further, Piaget’s theory considers the child more independent and child’s development might be guided through focus and self-centered activities. Further, Piaget considered assimilation and accommodation as two major processes in the cognitive development. Likewise, according to him constant interweaving of assimilation and accommodation could lead to cognitive development among children where assimilation occurs due to change in the existing information as modification.
