Scope and Aims of this service:
    The state of Victoria has many such mental health and AOD services that being used by millions of people every day. The most important one among these is the Alcohol and Drug Sector (AOD) that helps more than 40, 000 Victorians every year to combat their addiction and fight against their compulsion for alcohol abuse or drug abuse. A broad-spectrum community based services are aimed at handling the different areas of drug related abuse. This service is provided across the several regions of Victoria and is applicable to any resident that is part of Victoria, regardless of the region that he or she lives in. The aim of this service is to provide a holistic approach regarding all the aspects of a drug treatment therapy. It will include drug treatment therapies such as monitoring the intake of the drug, withdrawal from the drug, counseling not just for the abusers but also for the members of the family, rehabilitation into the society with proper employment and pharmacotherapy as a new method of treatment (Department of Health & Human Services, State Government of Victoria, Australia, 2020).
The referral pathway and Access Criteria of the service
    This service is accessible to all the resident of Victoria irrespective of the location of his or her communities or the remoteness of their regions. These residents have the ability to enter the Alcohol and Drug (AOD) service using the following methods that monitors both the intake and referral of the system. This includes contacting the Direct Line system via telephone using the following number: 1800 888 236 or by directly accessing the Direct Line website in which a person can enroll in the program any time he desires. Direct Line is the best method as it provides 24*7-assistance in terms of counseling, intake and information. The second method that can be used is via contacting a local AOD service provider. Catchment-based intake service also provides the direct link as the primary point of entry to the aforementioned treatment program. Other methods of enrolling and referral into the system include entry points from several areas health and human service providers like several intake services, providers found in local catchment areas, bed vacancy registering systems, and other intake processing tools (Department of Health & Human Services, State Government of Victoria, Australia, 2020)
