Microsoft Word - Project 2.docx 1 INFO8745: User Experience Project 2: Wireframes & Style Guide 15% of final grade Unit Outcomes Included: 7.1–9.2 of the Course Outline Project Overview This project marks the second stage of your user experience journey where you will create a new website for a sporting goods company called Leisure Athletics. For Project 1, we started at the beginning of the project process with user research and documentation; Project 2 will be wireframes and style guides, and for Project 3 you will create a digital prototype and conduct usability testing. For Project 2 we are going to work through the tasks as we learn them in-class. The tasks consist of designing wireframes based on user goals and business requirements, developing user flows diagrams using the wireframes and creating a style guide for Leisure Athletics. Deliverables You will be submitting a project document that includes: 1. Wireframes (low-fidelity) 2. User Flows Diagrams (2) 3. Style Guide Instructions • Design each deliverable in Adobe XD separately, export each as a PDF and insert into one Word Document. • Begin with creating Deliverable #1 and work your way down the list. • Wireframes: Create a low-fidelity wireframe design for the following pages: Home, About, 1 product category page (ex. Women’s Shirts), 1 product page (ex. Showing one shirt with project information), Checkout/Order Summary, and a Contact page. • Wireframe Layout Size: Use a Web Preset size in Adobe XD (1920 x 1080); you can make the page longer if you need to. • User Flows: Connect the wireframes you made to create two user flow diagrams. • Style Guide Size: one page, that is 8.5 x 11 inches. • Style Guide Contents: logo (provided), 5 colours as HEX codes with colour swatches/samples (provided, but you choose the exact shades of the colours), two fonts (they can be in the same font family), and two sample images (stock images). Include 2 button designs, any designs of icons that you decide to have, and type styles (H1, H2, H3... body copy). 2 Submission Submit a Word Doc with all deliverables inserted into it, as well as each deliverable as a separate PDF to the Assignments dropbox on eConestoga. On the Word Doc, include a title page, table of contents and page numbers. Make sure that your name and student ID number are on the title page. DUE Week 11. Case Study: About the Client, Leisure Athletics The client is a Canadian-based company called Leisure Athletics. They sell sports equipment and clothing for middle-class adults who are interested in athletics and fitness on a recreational level (not professional athletes). Leisure Athletics have been in business for 40 years, only selling in one physical location, but would now like to move their business to selling exclusively online, eventually closing their physical store location. They are hiring you to design an ecommerce website that includes an exemplary user experience to help support both their customers’ needs and their business goals. Stakeholders: Max Stone & Heather Stone, Co-Owners and siblings (second-generation owners, their parents began the business). Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Paul Bainbridge, Store Manager; started as a cashier 15 years ago. Michelle Marsh, the Store Merchandiser; started 5 years ago. Website Requirements: • Only selling and shipping merchandise within Canada in Canadian dollars. • Easily add products to cart, go through the secure checkout process, and pay online by PayPal or Credit Card. • Must have a fluid shopping experience that is equally enjoyable for all genders. • Have an optional customer login, so that we can store their contact information and they can access their order information easily. • Simple navigation and page structure. • An opportunity for customers to sign-up for their newsletter, offering a discount. • Keep a visual focus on the product. Biggest Competitor: Sport Chek Brand Colours: Blue, Orange, Black, White, Grey. Font: They would like you to decide on a font to use on their website that coordinates with their logo.
