Visualise the results on as the first part of the portfolio. Task B. (Maximum 500 words) Essay on Coping with Emotions · Write a short essay that addresses the following: · Discuss your understanding of “emotion” and “emotional intelligence” based on the concepts covered in the module learning materials. What do the concepts refer to and what are their dimensions and/or components? · Critically reflect upon the test results in Task A and discuss whether you think the results (in)accurately demonstrate your emotional intelligence. · Support your discussion using two personal examples or prior experiences/ events occurred in the past. · Include at least one reference in the module learning materials (e.g., eBook, articles on the reading list, articles identified from your independent search or reading) Task C. (Maximum 500 words) Essay on the Role of Emotional Intelligence in Future Career · Write short essay that addresses the following: · In Assignment 1, you have presented a job ad in relation to your targeted future career. Discuss the anticipated challenges and emotional demands incurred in your dream job. Explain the role of emotional intelligence in helping you tackle those challenges. · Identify and discuss two strategies for enhancing your emotional intelligence. · Include at least one reference in the module learning materials (e.g., eBook, articles on the reading list, articles identified from your independent search or reading) Please make sure the in-text citations and the end-of-text reference list comply with the Australian Harvard referencing style. Submission Instructions Submit your responses to all tasks above in an essay format in one single Word document to the designated assignment submission folder – please no PDF files. You must keep a backup copy of every assignment you submit, until the marked assignment has been returned to you. In the unlikely event that one of your assignments is misplaced, you will need to submit your backup copy. Any work you submit may be checked by electronic or other means for the purposes of detecting collusion and/or plagiarism. Emotion can be defined as the state of mind which
is controlled by the psychological changes. It is responsible for our behaviour according to a situation and representation of the pleasure or displeasure which we address in our daily life. Emotional intelligence on the other hand is the capability of a person to handle the emotions the face. This is the ability to control one’s own emotion in a positive way and reduce the stress of a situation. It helps a person to avoid conflicts through effective communication and production of empathy towards others. As supported by Carrillo et al. (2018), the emotional intelligence is a positive attribute which helps a person to deal with the workplace stress. The productivity of work increases when the emotional intelligence of a person is applied in a situation accurately. the components of emotion include an experience and the psychological or behavioural response to it. Several elements of emotion can be anger, happiness, sadness, trust, surprise and fear.
On the other hand, the components of emotional intelligence are self-awareness, self-motivation, empathy, social skills, and self-regulation. All these elements help a person in each aspect of their life from education to employment to dealing with personal problems.
However, according to Nel (2019), the elements of the emotional intelligence are highly important to deal with the workplace or educational organisation related bullies. It grows a self-knowledge and helps one to remain intrinsically motivated.
The result of the TASK A accurately demonstrates my emotional intelligence as each area is covered by me through applying the skill of emotional intelligence which I possess. At times I feel inferior to others which shows my lack of confidence in myself. I feel that I need to be more self-aware and have the total knowledge about myself to not get affected by mere issues and try to belong among the others.
