Introduction
This paper is the analysis of a case study 'Effective cross-culture leadership' with two main purposes. First, to discuss the role of effective cross-culture leadership in the corporate world and issues that a leader encounter. Followed byways and importance of motivation in a multicultural organisation. Considering the point of view proposed by Irene Rosenfield about leadership and motivation.
This essay will analyse the brief analysis of the literature on cross-cultural leadership, then describes the methods used in the research and then explains and discusses the empirical results of the research. Support current and future foreign managers to develop effective cross-cultural leadership, with an emphasis on professional theory construction concepts.
Literature Review
Many have commented about leadership transformation recently. Ongoing pandemic has not only changed the work culture but it also has massively affected people's mindsets and perspective towards hierarchy and work. As commented by Irene Rosenfeld, CEO of Mondelēz International, in the present days, the employees are not open to take orders from their leaders or leaders are not influential enough to be heard. This shows that the current generation is not really in the favour of micro monitoring and commands. They want freedom and leadership in their work.
The embodiment of leadership adequacy lies during the process of impact between followers and leaders. Leaders need to connect emotionally with human beings. Farmer and Tierney (2017) accepted that leaders are more viable in impacting individuals as far as feeling and reason, particularly when they accept that the leader incorporates activities and impact dependent on reason and rationale, while the administration depends on motivation.
An analysis of existing hypotheses of leadership effectiveness in consideration of cross-cultural problems brought critical awareness to the significant role. To carry out research, the author conducted the open-end interview process to know more about the effectiveness of leadership cross-culture and the importance and effect of motivation in employees. Below, the methodology used in this research could be referred to and the findings are mentioned underneath, which the researcher came up with.
Methodology
The researcher chooses the traditional method to take a survey. By observing 32 overseas managers, including 26 Australians and 19 Chinese performed a series of interviews with executives. Respondents were chosen and enlisted from the manual of Australian companies in China (2004 edition) AustCham (Australian Chamber of Commerce in China). Examples include mining and energy, manufacturing, consulting, construction, banking, legal consulting and education (Jankowska & Karwowski, 2019). The participating foreigners lived and worked in China for two months to 16 years.
