Assessment 3 Detail

Task

Answer each of the questions below:

o Describe the difference between a locally hosted school (ie. in an enterprise

data centre) and a school service provided using a SaaS provider. What are the

critical points, other than cost, that an enterprise would need to consider in

choosing to migrate from a locally hosted service to an SaaS service? Your

description should take no more than two to 3 pages.

o Describe the difference between locally hosted university infrastructure (ie. in

an enterprise data centre) and a university infrastructure provided using an

IaaS provider. What are the critical points, other than cost, that an enterprise

would need to consider in choosing to migrate from local hosted infrastructure

to an IaaS service provider? Your description should take no more than two to

3 pages.

o ECA, wants to investigate moving two of its educational arms to a service-
based model where many of its services would be supplied to its clients as a

service, in addition to its plans to move to an IaaS model. There are several

infrastructure models that could possibly be used to achieve this. Some of

these models are:

1. Local hosted infrastructure and applications.

2. Local hosted infrastructure with some SaaS applications.

3. Hybrid infrastructure (some locally hosted infrastructure with some

IaaS) and applications.

4. Hybrid infrastructure and applications with some SaaS applications.

5. Full IaaS model with some with SaaS apps.

6. Full SaaS model.

You are required to choose an infrastructure model that you think will achieve the

ECA Roadmap;

Describe the benefits and drawbacks, excluding costs, of your chosen infrastructure

model. Your description should take no more than two to 3 pages.

Question 1
Local hosting provides a way for using and running the program and the computer has the role of the virtual server. This can be done by editing code in the local host and getting the data to the server. It is helpful for development, administration, and testing. The local host is the main developer user for the developer and it can help create web programs and applications that need an internet connection. In the phase of
development, tests can be run by seeing an application that works. This uses loopback for testing and it provides with connection inside the system and computer that are currently used. It provides with certain bandwidth for communicating on the internet (D’silva et al. 2019). This can be primarily created and it could test things on the local system that is live on the main server. This can help in providing access to internet resources and it provides a loopback address that refers to a local device. It can help in establishing connections and transmission of information from the server programs by running the computer system as the program of the client. This can help in describing the port for connection with the source server. It allows the network connection to loop and it allows for emulating network connection.
SaaS service allows users to connect and it can be used as a cloud-based application for the internet. It provides a complete solution for purchasing based on the plan for the cloud service provider. The service provider can help in managing software and hardware with appropriate service agreements that can help in ensuring the security and availability of the application and data. This service can help in getting access to a sophisticated application that does not need to update, purchase, install, and maintenance of hardware and software. It provides access to CRM and ERP that lacks resources for managing, deploying, and buying the required software and infrastructure. It makes mobilization easy for the workforce and users can have easy access to data and apps from internet-connected systems. It has the additional benefit that there is no need of bringing special expertise onboard for managing security issues. The user can have access to information from an internet-based system (Aleem et al. 2019). It provides features for storing application data and data does not get lost in case of device failure. The user can easily log into the SaaS application from any location and device. It offers great flexibility for the business and allows employees to operate anywhere in the world. The user can have access to files and it can be accessed through multiple devices. This provides patched and updates for applications on the ongoing process. This can also handle scaling of applications like the addition of more space for database and it provides more computing power for usage. The provider has the responsibility for maintaining infrastructure and server for supporting the application based on the subscription cost of the application.
Question 2
The local host can help in describing the communication port for connecting with the source server. This allows the network connection to loop and allows a secure network connection. The local host includes a network administrator that ensures that all TCP/IP and equipment are working fine. It includes performing a check of connection by sending a ping to the local host. In the development of the application, the program requires an internet connection that can help in linking to the local host address which serves a great purpose for the developer. This includes uploading required program files to the server and checking the performance and testing through functionalities of the application. It provides the ability to communicate with the current machines and remote machines for testing purposes. The special class of IP addressing helps in redirecting to the server root folder (Basu et al. 2018). The local host simulation provides interaction with the remote machine and it can be used for testing on the network. In the process of communication, two computers can connect by sending and receiving data packets in the framework of TCP/IP protocols. The package contains the IP addresses of the sender and receiver as the main part of the information. The system looks at the address in the packet for seeing packets...
