This research proposal will be used to allocate your Research Supervisors who will be appointed to supervisor your Master of Business Research thesis and will also be reviewed by the Research Committee to complete your Confirmation of Candidature requirements. Drawing on your synthesis of the existing research literature in business and allied fields, you will identify a research question based on the theoretical, professional, or organizational 'gap' for a business problem that your proposed research will address. You will analyze the implications of various theoretical approaches in order to choose and develop an appropriate theoretical framework for your research. You will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of various methodological approaches before choosing and justifying a preferred methodology for your research. Evaluation of current theory and practice: Critically evaluate the current theories relevant to the research and identify gaps and related issues that the research project will address. Research Objectives: State the general purpose of the project and outline the specific objectives you want to achieve by undertaking the research project. Research Questions: Specify the key research questions you want to address in your research project. These questions should be consistent with your objectives. Statement of the Research Problem: Clearly define your research problem. This section must address the following questions: “What is the gap that needs to be filled?” and/or “What is the problem that needs to be solved. Statement of proposed research methodology: Outline the proposed research methodology such as quantitative methods, qualitative methods, or mixed methods. Executive summary
Several factors can influence the performance of an organisation. In many small and medium enterprises, the success of them depends on the facts that how they manage their employees and how they procure an effective leadership system in their organisation. Various scholars tried to find out those factors that can help them to grow or that can help them to enhance their performance. In this case, leadership, management and employee motivation become some of the key points that have the potentiality to manage different works and improve the performance in any difficult situation. In this research, the researcher has mainly tried to find out th
e importance of those matters on the working of small and medium organisations and also this research has chosen a specific time of COVID 19. In the time of COVID 19, all the organisations have to face several difficulties regarding sustaining their best and improved performance. The researcher thus tried to find out the contribution of those factors in this specific time. In the time of COVID 19, it was very difficult to motivate all the workers in an organisation within Australia. This study thus deals with the style of leadership in different small and medium enterprises in Australia, through which they manage the work of motivating their workers. In this case, the researcher has interviewed twenty managers of different organisation and asked them to share their own experience that elaborates the fundamentals like the effectiveness of leadership and the most common leadership style between many. This research planned to solve all the research problem with the help of a qualitative process that helps the researcher to find out a fact regarding the leadership style and management process that helps them to motivate all the employees during the crucial time of COVID 19.

Introduction
Companies are trying to put their best in the global market to stand still in this global competition. They are putting all their efficiency and dedication to gain all the competitive advantages. They are also focusing on improving their productivity area for more benefit in the future. Leadership plays a vital role in the improvement of the productivity area of any organisation. Based on some literature reviews, there are numerous suggestions for leadership and overall performance for the organisation. Therefore, this study focuses on the organisation’s overall performance like SMEs, family business, and many more, through leadership and management.
Justification for the Research
The crisis is the unwanted and unpredictable situations that affect negatively all the normal functions. Effective leadership is always needed to overcome these types of situations. The crisis of Greece is the best example of effective leadership to motivate during a time of crisis. Best Leadership styles always motivate their employees to work better and efficiently to overcome the situation. They implement all the possible styles to motivate the employees. How are leadership styles effective to motivate the employees during the crisis of Covid-19? This study is willing to make a connection between the crisis, leadership, and motivation of the employees.
Review of literature
An efficient leader always tries to help their employees by understanding their needs and demands and always tries to motivate them to be more efficient in attaining the goals of the company. According to Rudolph, Rauvola & Zacher, (2018), it helps to develop the motivation style, working attitude and behaviour among the employers to help them in their path of success. There are different leadership styles and also their style of implications. According to Maaitah, (2018), leadership style is a bridge between leaders and the employees through which the leaders influence the employees to work better and efficiently to attain the perfect goals and also to improve the total performance of the organisation. According to Dlamini, Garg & Muchie, (2017), transformational leadership appears when the leaders inspire, motivate, their employers through charismatic behaviour to follow a common goal of both the organisation as well as the employers.
Motivation is a process through which the behaviour of an individual, the direction of capability, work and effort comes into consideration. In other words, motivation is a tool that guides correctly to achieve a goal. A good relationship between the employees and the leaders always results positive in the working culture of the workplace. It also helps to enhance productivity and also it helps to enhance the efficiency level of an employer. According to Alfalih, (2021), motivation is the force that is effective in the orientation and adaptation of the behaviour of the employees in a specific way. According to Pedersen, Ritter, & Di Benedetto, (2020), a crisis is an unwanted situation and can create many problems in an organisation. At this time, especially highly efficient leaders are necessary to motivate the employees to work efficiently which can reduce the effect of the crisis and the organisation can gain competitive advantages. There are numerous examples of such leaders who create history through their motivational power among employers.
Small and Medium enterprises, family business are playing a major important role in the economy of a country. According to some researches, they are the main drivers of the economy. But these sectors are facing various challenges in the present-day world due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This thesis plays an important role to discuss the strategies through which the leaders handle this type of situations. At last, this study helps to bridge between motivation, crisis and leadership.
