Assessment Details Your task is to develop a workforce transformation roadmap for presentation as a business case to the Board of your organisation. If you are not currently working, pick an organisation that you have previously worked in or one that you would like to move into. It is advisable that you select an organisation in the same industry that you analysed in Assessment 2. To prepare your business case, you will: • Examine the current organisational strategies and consider how these have impacted on the organisation’s past and current workforce. • Analyse the macro forces impacting on the organisation and identify the implications of these for the organisation. • Develop a workforce transformation roadmap of key changes required for the organisation’s future success. • Identify multi-horizon options for shaping strategy • Prepare a logical rationale to garner support for your business case You may choose to revisit some of the tools and frameworks you have utilised and developed earlier in this course. Your business case will be presented to the Board of your organisation by a video recording. You will need to prepare supporting slides and speaker notes for your submission to the Board. It is important that you present a professional look during your video recording. Be well prepared and avoid reading from your slides and notes

Your recommendations will be in the form of a workforce transformation roadmap—a key component for identifying elements for change—presented as a business case. This assessment requires you to consider the macro trends impacting the organisation, its management strategies, and the implications of these on work, workforce and workplaces. Based on your analysis of macro trends on the organisation, you will make recommendations to the Board in the form of a business case presentation to guide your organisation in a proactive response. Assessment criteria This assessment will measure your ability to: • Prepare and present a business case for the workforce transformation that provides a logical analysis of your research findings and recommendations (35%) • Develop a workforce transformation roadmap for your chosen organisation that clearly articulates links between macro trends and the implications for the organisation (35%) • Prepare supporting slides and present your business case in a video recording demonstrating clear and consistent communication using sentence structure and grammar, clear speech and timing (20%) • Apply research and referencing guidelines clearly and consistently (10%) Course learning outcomes This assessment is relevant to the following course learning outcomes: • CLO2 Choose and apply different theories to understand the complex relationship between business recruitment, retention and training practices and workforce development and transformation • CLO3 Critically examine and assess different management strategies to workforce development through research and industry examples. Instructions Present your business case by recording a ten-minute presentation. The aim is to communicate your ideas effectively, organise the presentation in a logical manner and summarise and synthesise the topics impactfully. To submit, you will upload your presentation recording in a video file. We suggest that you use Canvas Studio to record the video component of this assessment, but you may use the tool of your choice. You will need to create a public link to your video to copy and paste into the written component of your assessment. Page 4 of 7 Referencing guidelines Use RMIT Harvard referencing style for this assessment. If you are using secondary sources, include these as a final slide in your powerpoint deck. You must acknowledge all the courses of information you have used in your assessments. Refer to the RMIT Easy Cite referencing tool to see examples and tips on how to reference in the appropriated style. You can also refer to the library referencing page for more tools such as EndNote, referencing tutorials and referencing guides for printing. Submission format Use Microsoft Word or a similar program. The assessment will be submitted in Canvas as a file upload.
