ASSESSMENT TASK 3 (Part B): DESCRIPTION

The aim of this assessment task is for you to demonstrate your ability to
critically appraise and synthesise literature on a topic and produce a narrative literature review.

1 Literature 1- Randomized Control Trails on Otago Exercise Program (OEP) to Reduce falls Among Elderly Community Dwellers in Shahroud, Iran

2. Falls and fractures in participants of a fall prevention exercise program for elderly women with history of falls: 1 year follow up

3. Reducing falls among older people in general practice: The ProAct65+exercise

Intervention trail

4. Effect of home- based exercise program on subsequent falls among community- Dwelling high – risk older adults after falls a randomized clinical trail

5 Falls prevention in a primary care setting

I don’t want introduction and Methodology, I can write as I searched this literatures.

I need help in Results and discussion. As I don’t have time to complete this assignment

1. Results: 750 words

- In results-

- Mention at least 3 major themes/ findings- Combine, compare and contrast the literature-

For example- Combine - Paper 1 find out A, B,

Paper 2: find out A, B and D

Compare: example- Mr smith(2018) find out A, B but Lauder(2016) find out A, B and D

Contrast- Example: 3 papers find out A, B but 4th
one find out C

- When you introduce paper first time in theme, you need to critically appraise the paper , then later you don’t need to do

· For example- Sample of paper, what was good about , what is theme, methology, (What was the design of the study?,What was the sample?, What were the data collection instruments and/or procedures?, How was the data analysed)

(A synthesis of the selected literature presented as:

• A critical appraisal of the rigor of literature, woven into the synthesis.

• The key themes identified after the literature has been analysed for common or unique themes
related to your research question.
)

2. A discussion of your results.
:750 words

- Recommendations for practice

- Further research, demonstrating exceptional analysis of results- Recommendation for future practice

- Limitation- its not about limitation of literatures- its about my limitation of this literature

3. A brief conclusion.
Key finding related to literature question

Throughout the literature review, use a wide range of relevant, current and reliable evidence to support the discussion. This would include literature that is in addition to your five chosen articles. You are expected to use correct APA 7th edition formatting throughout. The literature review must be written in third person and must follow the usual format for research papers including sections for Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.

For guidance on standards for assessment preparation, including referencing, please see Assessment Preparation Guidelines.

Running Head: FALL PREVENTION AND EXERCISE     1

EFFECTIVENESS OF EXERCISE IN FALL PREVENTION

There are five major studies selected for the examination of the effectiveness of exercises to prevent fall as well as to h
elp elderly population in the process of fall management. Basically, the three themes that influence the overall process of fall and the outcomes associated are closely linked with the fall management protocols, selection of the fall prevention programs and the process of collectively looking at the elderly population. Gawler et al (2016) and Kim, Yoshida and Suzuki (2014) project that the process of fall management is directly linked with the exercise and the active participation of the elderly community in the fall prevention programs. Gawler et al (2016) took up the study of elderly community participants taken from the two major regions of UK and examined the efficacy of the FAME and OEP. There is a major difference between the two exercise programs which was seen during the application of the two programs in the participants who were divided in the two groups. The study views that post study follow up and monitoring process showed greater interest of the selected population in exercise participation due to the integrated approach of the program itself.
On the other hand, Kim, Yoshida and Suzuki (2016) intervened with the study of 105 participants to cover the post follow up programs guided by the exercise based preventions. The assured support based observation was conducted in the study for a population which was over 70 years. The results of the study show that the prevention and management of the fall related issues can be covered effectively with the help of the exercise programs, if they are continued for a significant duration and it should be more than a year. The differential aspects of these two studies, as per the observation, were relatable to the selection of the criteria of research.
Contrasting the results of Gawler et al (2016), Dadgari et al (2016) projected the efficacy of the OEP over the selected population in the study conducted over 357 members of the elderly community living in the Semnan region, Iran. The participants of the study were put over the OEP for a period of one year as post follow up monitoring, seeking their coordination in terms of following the guidelines of the exercise program. Though Gawler et al (2016) and Dadgari et al (2016) both had similar approach in terms of assessing the efficacy of the major exercise programs that are globally acceptable, the contrasting feature of the two studies was related to the see intensity of the fall prevention programs that are mainly based over the exercises. For a population that is other than UK, the implication of OEP was somehow efficient enough to prevent the elderly community to undergo the fall related injuries.
Moreover, a comparative overview of the three studies presents that the incident rate ratio (IRR) was lowest in Gawler et al (2016) as it was below 1% overall. In the other two...
