1.0 Introduction
As the competition in the business environment is increasing day by day and the choices and preferences of the customers are evolving rapidly, it has become extremely vital for business organisations that they analyse the huge amount of data gathered to formulate strategies for the sustainable growth and development of the business. Business Intelligence in general comprises technologies and strategies that are used by most of the business enterprises for analysing the data and information of the business. This helps to gain insights into the current as well as predictive views of the operations conducted by a business and thus helps to add value to the business (Trieu, 2017).
In the current case study, CKE restaurant that own and operates Hardee’s has been able to plan its strategies with great efficiency that contributed to the sky-high sales of the business through effective use of the BI tools and techniques available with the business organisation. Based on the insights gained from its BI system CKE introduced its monster thick burger in the year 2004, which turned out to be a huge success for the business. The purpose of this report is to survey the application of BIS and its abilities to add value to the business. The report shall also discuss the lessons learned from the case of CKE. The report shall also help to highlight the barriers that business organisations may face and methods to overcome these challenges.

Hardee’s operated by CKE restaurants launched The Monster Thickburger into the test markets and based on the analysis conducted by BIS they could infer the performance of their big burger (CIO, 2007). This insight helped them decide that their...
