Assessment task overview
This assessment task involves you managing the recruitment, selection, and induction process for a Beauty Salon. During the process, at least one person needs to be recruited, selected, and inducted. The actual recruitment, section and induction of the person can be simulated, in that, the person being recruited can be acting (this could be another student or part of the AIS team).
Part A: Develop recruitment, selection and induction policies and procedures
For this part of the assessment task you will need to develop a range of documents that will form the basis of a recruitment, selection, and induction process at the AIS Beauty Salon.
Before you can start this task, you will need to:
· Download the Policy Template (also available in Appendix A)
· Download the Procedure Template (also available in Appendix B)
· Analyse the strategic and/or operational plans for the AIS Beauty Salon. Your trainer/assessor will assist you to locate these.
To complete this task, you will need to:
· Develop a Recruitment, Selection, and Induction Policy for the AIS Beauty Salon.
· Develop a Recruitment, Selection, and Induction Procedure for the AIS Beauty Salon.
· Ensure that your recruitment, selection, and induction procedure make use of technology and/or applications that improve the efficiency of the recruitment and selection process.
· Ensure that your recruitment, selection, and induction policy make provision for training and support for those involved in the recruitment, selection and induction process.
What to submit:

· A recruitment, selection, and induction procedure.
Part B: Conduct a Stakeholder Meeting
For this part of the assessment task you will need to present the policy and procedure you developed for Part A of this assessment task to AIS Beauty Salon Management and Staff.
You will need to organise a meeting forming a group (3-5 members) assuming where at least one member of the management team and two members of staff are present. During the meeting your assessor will observe you communicate the policy and procedure, seek feedback and approval.
Before you can start this task, you will need to:
· Complete Part A of this assessment task.
During the meeting you will need to:

Part C: Initiate the Recruitment Process
For this part of the assessment task you will need to initiate the recruitment process for one role within the AIS Beauty Salon. The recruitment process will be simulated, that is, you will not actually hire someone. Instead you will go through the same processes as though you were recruiting a person for an actual role within the organisation.
First you will need to nominate a role you are to ‘recruit’. In consultation with AIS Beauty Salon Management, you are to select a role on which to base this assessment. It is strongly advised that you select a role that is already established within the team. Avoid creating a new role for this task.
Before you can start this task, you will need to:

The interview will be simulated with another student playing the role of interviewee. Your assessor will observe your performance during the interview.
Before you can start this task, you will need to:
· Identify a student with whom you can simulate the interview. Your assessor can assist with this if needed.
· Arrange a time for your assessor to observe the interview.
During the interview you will need to:
