It is marked out of 40 and is worth 40% of your assessment for this unit.  Choose ONE of the following options: 1. Into the Forest How does Anthony Browne's picture book Into the Forest (2004) re-imagine the traditional fairy tale in order to reflect contemporary ideas about children and childhood? Answer this question by paying close attention to the key concepts of intertextuality and picture book analysis outlined in Week 2. You should reflect on three or more aspects of picture book narration including line, shape, layout, font, colour, medium, and/or the relation between the written text and illustrations. Support your answer with reference to at least two relevant e-readings provided for you in the Unit Reading List (Weeks 1 and 2 particularly). Although it is not compulsory, you may also include reference to other scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters that are relevant to your response. 2. Stella Street "Stella Street (Honey, 1998) positions the implied reader to believe that Henni is right about the Phonies, implying that all rich people are law-breaking neighbourhood wreckers". Marks will be awarded for:  following the guidelines and completing all parts in the timeframe allowed  accurately and insightfully responding to the questions at hand demonstrating a close knowledge of the set texts and their key themes and narrative features  demonstrating a knowledge of the key concepts covered in the unit materials (study guide, readings, lectures etc.) writing that is well structured, legible, clear and academic.     ◦HD High Distinction 80-100%: An outstanding performance. All parts done very well. Exceeds or refines the basic task requirements. Evidence of critical thinking or thoughtful sorting and selection. Comprehensive and accurate. ◦DN Distinction 70-79%: A superior performance. Some parts done excellently. Material presented is strongly linked to task; comprehension of task is high. ◦CR Credit 60-69%: A good performance. All parts dealt with satisfactorily. Some isolated examples of excellence. ◦P Pass 50-59%: An acceptable level of performance. Broadly completed but some parts are superficially treated, misunderstood or nearly overlooked.
