Managing a warehouse is essential part of an industry like Australian Hardware because the processes or business operations of the industry involves procurement and delivery of goods and services, which can prove to be hazardous for the workers working within the warehouse. Implementation of policies and procedures play an important role while ensuring that the activities being conducted in the warehouse are aligned with the legal compliances and ensure that all the safety measures are being implemented to ensure safety of the workers. From the view point of a warehouse consultant some of the major policies and procedures can be explained as below:
Basic Equipment Safety
According to the nature of the business of Australian Hardware, the warehouses of the business will include moving equipments, forklifts, stackers, palter movers and other type of related machinery. Therefore, it should be ensured by the management of the business as well as the maintenance team of the organisation that the instruments are well lubricated and are not damaged in any sense to ensure that no miss happenings occur while working with these equipments (Vaughen, 2019). The organisation must adhere to the code of conduct and acts of Australian Government such as fatigue management, forklift operations, waste management, and manual handling Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and AS/NZS.

In order to make necessary changes into the health and safety policy the management as well as the employees of the organisation must be very well aware of the roles and responsibilities. Introduction
Warehouse management system can be defined as the management and controlling of the day to day operations of a warehouse. It is important for businesses to control the operations of their warehouse stores in entirety to ensure that they are able to meet the safety requirements along with the regulatory and legislative compliances to provide their workers with a safe workplace environment. As warehouse management system is the key part of supply chain and therefore the primary aim should be to control the movement of storage materials and effectively and efficiently the processes associated with other transactions and shipping.
It is the legal and ethical obligation of the organisation to ensure that it meets all the legal compliances throughout its warehouse stores and manages to provide its customers a safe workplace environment. Another important aspect for managing the warehouse statistically is to implement effective recordkeeping so that the organisation can be sure of warehouse compliances as well as health and safety performance.
Required Changes in Existing Policies and Procedures
In order to manage it’s WHS after expanding to huge number of 138 within the national boundaries the management and employees of the organisation must focus on necessary changes in existing policies and procedures.
