The Current NYC Council – Keith Powers (City Council)
My city is New York City Council and it is Keith Powers elected as the District 4 representative from Democratic Party. It is the first term that Keith Powers has own the general elections on 7th November, 2017. Keith Powers defeated Rebecca Harary from Republican and Rachel Honig from Liberal in the District 4 New York City Council general elections. Keith Powers achieved 57.20% of votes while Rebecca and Rachel got 30.83% and 11.87% of votes respectively.
The main initiatives of Keith Powers for the campaign of New York City council elections were providing public education and affordable housing facilities for all. Edification of the New York City to make it more vibrant and making various reforms in the city government (Ballotpedia, 2017).
Some of the major successes achieved by Keith Powers with respect to the promises made during the 2017 New York City Council election campaigns were with respect to providing affordable housing facilities. He was able to negotiate the housing deal between Waterside Plaza and New York Council Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).
