Assignment Content Top of Form Overview This is a group assignment. It must be completed in a group of 3 to 4 students. You are required to produce conceptual models to capture data requirements of an organisation within your chosen industry and implement them in the form of a relational database. The conceptual models must take the form of EER and UML diagrams, drawn using draw.io, Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or other diagramming software provided that Chen’s notation and UML notation are used consistently. The relational database must be implemented and queried via SQLite. Bottom of Form Top of Form Tasks Domain selection Begin by selecting one industry to study. To help with your choice, you may consult the following industry registries: · https://www.fwc.gov.au/about-us/members-case-allocations/list-industries · https://www.pwc.com.au/industry.html For the selected industry, then select one area of interest (e.g. customer service, marketing, purchasing, human resource, finance, logistics, etc.). For instance, if a defence industry is selected then you may choose its supplier management as an area of interest. Next, define the “things of interest” in your chosen area of interest. As an example, for supplier management, the things of interest may include suppliers, supplied materials, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and payments. Data requirement gathering and conceptual modelling Analyse the selected things of interest. Identify their corresponding entity types, attribute types, and relationship types among them. You should also consider incorporating one additional semantic data modelling concept (specialisation/generalisation) and perform normalisation for all entities up to the Third Normal Form (3NF). Present the outcome of your analyses in the form of the Enhanced Entity Relationship (EER) and Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams. All diagrams must be correctly drawn in compliance with Chen’s notation and the UML notation used in this unit. Relational database implementation Create a new relational database in SQLite to implement the EER and UML models. Populate the tables with a small set of sample data. SQL queries Provide six database query use cases. For each use case, provide one paragraph description of the query scenario, along with their corresponding SQL query statements and results. You should provide two simple query use cases, two moderately complex use cases, and two complex use cases. · A simple use case involves an SQL statement that retrieves data from a single table. It must incorporate a WHERE clause that uses at least one of the following operators: comparison operators, Boolean operators, BETWEEN operator, IN operator, LIKE operator, or NULL operator. · A moderately complex use case involves an SQL statement that joins two or more tables. · A complex use case involves an SQL statement that incorporates at least 1-level nested queries (i.e. subqueries). The hurdle item is not graded but must be submitted in order to qualify your team to make the graded final submission. Hurdle item submission (compulsory; ungraded) The following hurdle item is required: One copy of the signed Group Contract document per team (DO NOT submit multiple documents) · Format: you must use the provided template (see below) · Deadline: 12 Oct 2022 at 23:59 ACST (or earlier) · Submission link: upload the completed group contract here. Do not submit the item through email. Group contract template: PRT563 Student Group Contract.docx Final submission (graded) The final submission must be made via Learnline by the latest 23:59 ACST of the due date. The submission must be a single .zip compressed file that contains the following items: · One piece of written group report in Microsoft Word file. Length: not more than 4 pages (A4-size, 11pt font size, single space, not including the Appendices below). In the report, you should include: · The business background, specific scenario, and the general problems to be solved (not more than 2 pages) · Your group's target grade with justifications for how the submitted work addresses the target grade's criterion (not more than 1.5 pages) · A list summary of individual contributions to this assessment (not more than 0.5 page) · Appendix A contains EER and UML diagrams (including the mapping of EER to the relational model). This should be a separate Microsoft Word document with no page limit. · Appendix B contains SQL queries along with their corresponding business cases and results. This should be a separate Microsoft Word document with no page limit. · (optional) Appendix C contains any other relevant, supporting material. · All executable SQL scripts are in a single .sql file. Do not submit multiple files; only a single .zip compressed file is required.  Email submission will not be accepted unless specifically requested by the instructor.
