Assessment Guide (2022.1 Online): THT2106 Festival and Events Management Task 2A: - Recorded Individual presentation Due date:- 30 April Weightage value 30% Task 2A/B Proposal of a NEW event Task Description Students are required to prepare an Event Proposal for a new festival or major event. It is to be staged in a Sydney or Melbourne in Australia with an expected attendance of at least 10,000 visitors and running over a minimum of two (2) days. This event is a ticketed event and must include an educational aspect for your audience. This task should not be an analysis of an existing event. Students can ‘import’ elements of an event from other events and/or countries but evidence needs to be provided how it would be developed for local conditions and alternative markets (host community, visitors and tourists). Task 2A: Presentation Task Length: • 7–10-minute recorded video presentation. • Estimated Student Workload: 10-12 hour. Task Requirements Students will present their event proposal to a potential sponsor in order to gain (financial) support. The presentation layout must follow the below guidelines and must be recorded. The assessment submission must contain the PowerPoint as well as the video recording or provide a link to the files on the student’s Google Drive. Instructions on how to save and upload the document and link will be provided on LMS and during the lecture times. PRESENTATION STRUCTURE • Title Slide with the student’s name and number, the Event Name, date and venue; • Students must follow the structure of event proposals as discussed in class based on the information from Power Sponsorship from week 4. • The Main Part (the ‘pitch’) should include the following elements: o Description Concept of the Event o Co-Creative Element o Site Analysis/Planning o Staging o Market Analysis/Integrated Marketing strategy o Sponsorship and benefits o Financial feasibility / budget / ticket price calculation o Conclusion which summarises the main findings o Q&A o Final slide with references in APA style Assessment Criteria 1.
