In this assignment, you are the professor and you will be creating a PPT presentation for students that outlines the differences between the following:



  • Peer-reviewed journals

  • A primary source

  • A secondary source


Include in the notes section of the PowerPoint at least 200 words covering how you would explain the use and purpose of each item. For example, usewho, what, when, where, and how to approach and explain each item as it applies to the peer-reviewed journals, the primary sources, and a secondary source.


Assignment: Part 2


Include a problem statement with a maximum of 250 words, including the points below that are from the dissertation template, for a topic that interests you.


Begin with “The problem to be addressed by this study is…” This statement should logically flow from the introduction and clearly identify the problem to be addressed by the study.



  • Succinctly discuss the problem and provide evidence of its existence.

  • Identify who is impacted by the problem (e.g., individuals, organizations, industries, or society),

  • Explain what is not known that should be known about it

  • Explain what the potential negative consequences could be if the problem is not addressed in this study

  • Remember to source the information and source assertions with citations of current, scholarly works from the literature


Length: 5-7 slides with a minimum of 200 words in the notes of the PPT


References: Include a minimum of five (5) scholarly resources.


Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. These literary sources can be peer-reviewed journals, primary sources or secondary sources. These sources are capable of fulfilling all the intellectual needs of a diverse user group. Here, the purpose and use of these literary sources have been discussed in detail to develop a better understanding.

· This kind of journal is mainly written and reviewed by experts
· The peer review helps in subjecting the author scholarly work to the scrutinization of other experts (Wicherts, 2016)
· This journal helps in ensuring the content and the quality of the article to be published
· This journal is used in the field when any kind of research is to be carried out.
    Peer reviewed or the referred journals have an editorial board of experts who has an expertise in several knowledgeable fields. The review and make an evaluation of the articles before it is to be submitted for publication. Journals are having an urgent need to be peer reviewed. The editorial board of experts takes an initiative of making the articles to be reviewed properly before the articles to be included in the scholarly sections. The experts take a look at whether the information which is there in the article is proper and appropriate. The quality of the articles is checked duly so that it can be of help to the students and any mob.

There are three ways by which the peer review is done; those are single, double and open-mindedly. Three kinds of peer review helps in checking the journal in their own style.

· This is primarily a document that has been written at the wake of the occurrence of any events.
· The purpose of this primary source helps in giving knowledge to the students regarding any past events (Collins, Reyes‐Galindo & Ginsparg, 2017)
· The use of these primary resources helps in encouraging students to seek additional evidence and information through any kind of research.
· The primary sources are artwork, diary, interview and any kind of letters, autobiographies
    The primary source is a kind of document, which provides sufficient evidence regarding any kid of events that has occurred in the past. Those who witness the events or the situations, which are to be documented, mainly create these kinds of documents. The documents help in providing firsthand knowledge of the incidents and the insights from the past. These kinds of sources do not have the urgency to speak for themselves; rather they needed to be interpreted by the common people. These kinds of documents help in defining the characteristics of other articles like diary and letters.
