documents of communication, with all topics in each section related to healthcare.
Ideally the topics and methods you choose to use while devising your Portfolio should be
relevant to your chosen field of study and can be used to answer each question in the

Do’s and Don’ts of Memo Writing  Don’t use informal/emotional language: Keep it strictly formal. No slang words or colloquial language. This will keep your memo easy to read and understand quickly.  Do be succinct: Don’t include unnecessary details. Introduction & Definition
Schizophrenia is a severe psychological illness in which individuals have an aberrant perception of their surroundings. Schizophrenia can cause delusions, hallucinations, and remarkably disordered behaviour and thinking that interferes with everyday activities and is often disabling. Schizophrenia patients require long-term care. Early intervention may assist in managing
symptoms before severe complications establish, improving the long-term perspective. Schizophrenia is characterised by a range of difficulties with cognition (thinking), emotions, and behaviour (Fonseca et al. 2020).
The symptoms and signs can vary, but they generally involve hallucinations, delusions, or disorganised speech as well as reflect a reduced capacity to function. Schizophrenia symptoms usually appear in men in their early to mid-twenties. Symptoms generally occur in women in their late twenties. Approximately one-third of individuals suffering from schizophrenia have complete symptom remission. Some individuals with schizophrenia encounter periodic remission and worsening of clinical signs throughout their lifetimes, while others encounter a progressive worsening of clinical signs over time (Charlson et al. 2018).
Schizophrenia usually affects 24 million individuals globally or one in every 300 people. Schizophrenia patients are two to three times more prone than the general populace to die early. Communication Method
Active listening is a communication strategy that necessitates the listener to entirely concentrate on what is being spoken in an attempt to comprehend the speaker's thoughts and respond mindfully. Active listening was introduced by mental health professionals Richard Evans Farson and Carl R. Rogers, who advocated for paying complete and indivisible focus to the person speaking. It is the most useful approach for both group and individual development. Communication is a two-directional process (Jones, Bodie & Hughes 2016).
It requires a minimum of one person to deliver the message and another to obtain it. Active listening demonstrates to the individual that their response has been comprehended and received. Listening with each of the senses is what active listening entails. Active listening is central to client-centred counselling and, once accomplished, offers an effective tool that is useful in professional relationships, work, and everyday life. Active listening, once performed effectively, develops and preserves therapeutic bonds and alliances by demonstrating empathy as well as providing opportunities for growth and healing (Cristófol, De-San-Eugenio-Vela & Paniagua-Rojano 2020).
Actively listening to patient populations demonstrates regard for their self-knowledge and fosters trust. It enables health professionals to act as trusted intermediaries. Only through collaborative learning can patients and physicians collaborate to develop a viable, authentic care plan. The ability to empathise and understand patients is directly related to the capacity to listen. When humans try to listen, they commonly commit the error of speaking from their perspective instead of putting themself in their apparel (Vaghri, Covell & Clow 2018).
Patients don't always require solutions or answers to their issues. They may simply require care professionals to thoroughly listen. The patient receives messages of encouragement and support to progress their therapeutic path by reflecting on the emotional responses care professionals hear. Active listening is among the most powerful tools in counselling, coaching, and therapy for enhancing in-session aspects, shifting unconstructive mindsets, and facilitating transformation (Padilla-Ruiz et al. 2022).
