Being motivated as an employee at work is very important for an employer as employees feel super ready when they are motivated. They are ready to achieve all the set targets, actualise organisational objectives, and in most situations, work with the team and all stakeholders to meet project deadlines, amongst other things. As a newly hired HR Manager in a restaurant business, you are tasked to design policies that will help ease employees into the workplace post-covid-19 era, identify, and discuss the below.1. Identify three possible motivational method you will introduce and discuss its benefits to the employees and employer.2. You are planning to re-introduce a work policy that is aimed to improve on a better hygiene behaviour post covid-19, discuss the benefit of this to the employer, and identify some key challenges you will face when discussing this specific approach with the employees.3. l Methods
Motivation is an important aspect to maintain the maximum outcome from a workplace. Due to being a newly appointed HR manager, the three possible motivational methods, which I will include, are that:
· I would give recognition to the workers who are providing a high outcome and dedicated towards their work.
The recognition achieved will help them to stay motivated and encourage them to work for the growth of the organisation. This will make the employee to feel special and awarded for their hard work. For example, in a restaurant business, the waiters who are always attending the customers on time and serving them hygienically must be given recognition, which will make them more dedicated towards their service providence. As mentioned by Koufie and Kesa (2020), social media is a highly used platform nowadays to recognise good workers of an organisation. This technique can be used by the employers to provide recognition to the employees, which will make them feel special in a social sector among huge number of people.
· I would improve relationship with the colleagues, which will help the workers to stay motivated and create an interest towards the workplace.
Maintaining a healthy relationship in the workplace attracts the employees towards working better and the outcome of the work is fruitful. It makes the workers to look forward to going to work each day and give their best in that sector. For example, we tend to visit those places where we have a good relationship with the host. This makes us feel comfortable and accepted. Similarly, in the case of the employees, they must feel comfortable in the workplace, which will increase their productivity (Barth and Barber, 2017). This will also help in creating a friendly atmosphere, which will not make the employees feel the work pressure and easier to reach anyone when in trouble.
· I would be providing opportunities for advancing the position of the employees by giving promotion in the job status of the deserving candidates, who are dedicated in developing the organisations profit.
This will increase the motivation of both the employers and the employees in the field of producing their work for better productivity. This will benefit the company in retaining the employees and even getting the maximum outcome at work. For example, using this technique, the company can save their cost in training new employees by retaining the old ones who are aware about the company policies and work systems. This can also be done by providing bonus and incentives for achieving targets, which will motivate the employees to achieve several targets for the company increasing the productivity of the business (Barth and Barber, 2017).
2. Benefits and Challenges of Reintroducing a Work Policy for Better Hygiene Behaviour Post Covid-19
Benefits
The policy I will re-introduce after the post-COVID situation is the mobile phone policy, which will not allow the employees to use their mobile phones during working hours. A mobile phone consists of several germs as it is touched continuously at any point of time. The benefits of this policy will be explained to the employers. The benefits are:
· In the post-COVID situation, people are much aware about maintaining the hygiene. The customers may produce objection in serving food while touching or using the mobile phone at the same time. This will maintain the trust of the customers about the hygienic condition of the restaurant.
· It is seen that mobile phones consist of bacteria, which spread infections. As mentioned by Martina et al. (2019), mobile phones help the bacteria to colonise on it providing them a supportive environment. This spreads infection when touched continuously with hands and the hands are not washed thereafter.
· The prohibition of using mobile phones during working hours will also not divert the minds of the employees as they were used to spend a huge time on social media during the COVID situation. This will help them...
