An ABC company wants to design a cost-effective network, and you are one of the team members of the task force. The ABC company has six departments, namely; reception, finance, HR, IT, employees and manager.You are supposed to come up with a network design suitable for this institute. It is to note that this assignment consists of two parts a) Assignment 1a and b) Assignment 1b and they have their own submission deadlines. 	The report should include the following contents: 1. Project Scope  The project scope and requirement should have an outline of the project. 2. Project Hardware and Software requirements  Name of the network device with the manufacturer's name, series, model and ports  Number and type of devices to be used  Type of the cables used  Name of the server, PC with specification such as operating system, RAM, hard disketc. 3. Approach for the design  Discuss in clear terms the approach that you should be taking for designing thenetwork. You may use bullet points whenever necessary. 5. Detailed Network Diagram  Include a diagram of your designed network, and write justifications of your designincluding the IP addressing solution 6. Network device configurations  Include most of the suitable feature which you have studied from laboratories 1 to 6.  Hint: Use of VLANs for different departments could be one of the preferences.

NETWORK DESIGN PROPOSAL
1. Project Scope
This proposal is for setting up a cost effective network in ABC company. The company has six departments present in the same building. The office is situated in a metropolitan area which makes access to an internet service provider easy at reasonable price. The proposed network will provide connectivity among all devices in the office in addition to providing a secured internet connectivity to all computers and laptops. The network will be a combination of wired and wireless links.
The office has six departments, namely; reception, finance, HR, IT, employees and manager. IT, Finance and Manager departments will have individual servers. There will be a common server between the employees and HR department since these two departments usually have shared information. The routers and Ethernet switches will be organized depending upon the possible load of each department.
Both Router and Switch are the connecting devices in networking. A router is employed to settle on the littlest path for a packet to achieve its destination. The main objective of router is to connect various networks simultaneously and it works in network layer, whereas the main objective of switch is to connect various devices simultaneously and it works in data link layer. 2. Project Hardware and Software requirements
Each department will have a 16 or 32 port Ethernet switch. There will be dedicated servers for the finance, IT and manager departments. The reception department will not have any server. There will be a common server and an Ethernet switch between the HR and employees departments. These departments often have common data to be shared among them.
The cabling will be done with high speed unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables which are commonly used for office setups. UTP cables are the most commonly used networking cables on the market and are considered to be the fastest copper-based medium available. They are less expensive than STP cables,
