The College is based in Melbourne CBD and has an additional campus in Sydney. The College offers a range of courses in management, marketing, human resources and international business. It currently has 195 students enrolled across all of its courses and both campuses. Courses are offered at all levels, from Certificate II to Graduate Diploma. King Edward VII College is very popular due to its competitive pricing structure, innovative teaching methods and state of the art facilities. The College currently employs 25 staff members that include the CEO, a Finance manager, Sales and Marketing Manager and Sales and Marketing Assistant, Promotions Officer, Human Resources Manager, Operations Manager, Administration Manager, Office Assistant, Receptionist, Academic Manager, Student Services Officer and approximately 14 trainers and assessors. There is also a Board of Directors consisting of the four owners of the company. You are the Operations Manager at the College, and part of your job is to manage the research that is conducted within the College and conduct applied research that enhances the College’s staff members’, the team’s and the organisation’s performance. Our principal purpose is to provide high quality training services to satisfy students’ needs. Our training is nationally recognised and accredited to meet vocational and educational standards. Courses are designed by highly qualified staff with extensive industry and training experience to achieve teaching and learning excellence, flexibility and personal satisfaction. We also expect stable costs for our existing campuses with no major increases expected. However, there will be significant financial investment required for the new campuses. Resourcing Financial Due to the success of the College to date, there are significant cash reserves to fund the new campuses, plus general initiatives, including quality training and assessment and continuous improvement and innovation. Staffing Regarding staffing, existing staff will perform key functions across the new campuses such as human resources and marketing. They will also perform any new functions arising such as responsibility for quality and innovation. Describe the organisation you are basing this project on.
a. What is the name of the organisation?
The organization is King Edward VII College based in Melbourne CBD and also has and addit

b. What are the main activities of the organisation?
The college is a Registered Training Organization (RTO) which provides the training to students in the business and management. The courses are offered at all levels, which starts from the Certificate II to Graduate Diploma program.
c. List at least three objectives/goals of the organisation (i.e. list three desired outcomes of your organisation).
The strategic objectives of the organization are: to be a leader in vocational education and training, to be a leader in innovation in the vocational education and the training sector and to establish and maintain high quality infrastructure supporting the customers and employees.
d. What is your role in the organisation?
My job role is an operations manager at the college, and the part of the job is to manage the research which is conducted within the college and conduct applied research that also enhances the college’s staff members, the organization and the team performance also.
    Your role should be that of a leader or manager who uses applied research to enhance individual, team and organisational performance for improved organisational outcomes.
How will your research task help your organisation to achieve improved organisational outcomes?
a. How is your research task relevant to the strategic practices and outcomes of the organisation?
The research task that I am allotted is to apply the research strategies in order to enhance the performance of the teaching and non-teaching staffs of the college, which is directly related to the improvement of the organizational performance. Since the research work is based on the enhancement of the staff’s output, this will also directly reflect in improvements of their activities, which will bring positive results for the college and further it will also aid in its expansion.
b. Explain how your chosen research task/topic will help your organisation to achieve improved organisational outcomes?
The research topic will mainly focus on two major aspects, the first one is improving the teaching standards of the teaching staffs, and second it will enhance the working style of the non-teaching staffs, which will help in enhancing the business of the college by further expanding the network of the college. This will directly put a positive impact over the satisfaction of the needs of the students. The development of the required knowledge and the skills of the students will help them to be job ready and it will also help them to completely undertake a wide range of areas of business.

a. What is the purpose of your research task?
The purpose of the research task is to comply with the college’s mission, strategic objective and values in order to improve the performance level of the college by providing better teaching standards and fulfilling the satisfaction level of the students.
b. What is the hypothesis of your chosen research task?
To improve the teaching standard of the college in order to fulfill the expectation of the students and help them get established in their career.
c. Describe your target group’s profile and needs. 
The target group is the students who have enrolled themselves for various courses offered in the college starting from Certificate II to the Graduate Diploma in order to enable them to place themselves in the job market successfully.
d. What is the context of your research (the cultural, social, geographical or institutional factors in which the organisation operates and in which the research will be carried out)?
The context of the research is based on the institutional factors, where the focus is on increasing the teaching standard of the college.
e. What data is required for your research task?
To conduct this research task the data required is the number of teaching and non-teaching staffs, the number of students, the percentage of the passing candidates, the number of courses offered, the performance of the no-teaching staffs, such as the marketing team, HR team, operations teams and finance team.

I have consulted with the CEO of the college regarding all the necessary changes required to be implemented.

the requirement of the stakeholders is that the courses offered must be appropriate to the demands of the clients or students and continuously meet their expectations.

The choice of words was simple because it will help me to properly explain the entire requirements and the process through which it can be achieved.
