Organizational Leadership Community Collaboration Project


In this assignment, you will

consolidate elements from your assignments in Units 3, 5, and 7

into a plan for developing community collaboration to address gaps in service. In adapting elements from previous assignments, you must make improvements based on feedback you received from your instructor and peers.






Your community collaboration plan will describe your selected human services organization and identified leadership theory. You will present historical and current dynamics and practices within the organization and make recommendations for more effective leadership practice for the organization and the community it serves.






The components of your plan must include:






An introduction to your selected human services organization.


An examination of your selected leadership theory as it applies to practice in your selected organization.


An analysis of the value of your selected leadership theory for contemporary and future practice in the organization.


A literature review in which you integrate theories and models of practice for the organization as related to social, cultural, and global practice.


An analysis of social, political, cultural, legal, and economic factors that affect multidisciplinary collaboration and the ways each of these factors impacts services for the client population served.


An outline for a leadership plan for building social, cultural, and global collaboration for improved outcomes. Your plan must include:


Agencies identified for collaboration.


A diagram that reflects community-building processes.


A timeline for implementation.


Recommendations for organizational assessment or change processes that will foster social, cultural, or global collaboration.

Introduction
The American Red Cross society is a non-profit organization which is established to provide humanitarian services. The services include providing emergency assistance along with the disaster relief and preparedness in the United States. The mission of the American Red Cross is to help the people who suffer during the emergency or crisis situation occurs if any. The helping hand come from many voluntary workers who are associated with the society and willing gets ready to offer their help to the people in crisis. The society is guided by the seven fundamental principles such as humanity, imparity, independence, neutrality, unity, voluntary service and universality. The society is dedicated to offer their service all across the US boundaries (American Red Cross, 2020).
Examination of Leadership Theory
In this article the chosen theory is the behavioral theory. Mc Huron, Costa, Schwarz and Mangel (2017) have discussed that behavioral theory is about the representation of the behavioral aspect of any person. This aspect or the attitude is the representation of how a person interacts with another person and the action they take during that approach. There are two kinds of the behavioral theory which are task behavior and relationship behavior. Holland (2016) elaborated that the task behavior is associated with the goal accomplishment of the organization which is by helping others in accomplishing their goals.
However, the relationship behavior deals with the helping a person who feel comfortable with themselves by following a leader and that help them to face any kind of situation wither being individual or in group. Behavioral theory is the way through which both the traits are being combined together to work in an effective manner. In the Red Cross Society the behavioral theory is much applicable as the society deals with the interacting and helping the people. Therefore the manner in which they behave will lead to provide the service that is needed to be provided.
Values of the Behavioral Theory
The behavior of any leadership theory is based on the values that define the effectiveness of any leadership theory. Goh, Ritchie and Wang (2017) have elaborated that there are five value proposition or behavior that is carried by the leader. The first one is to behave in a honest manner. The integrity is the aspect which defines the character and the way the person will execute the work. The next behavior is the commitment. For any work to accomplish it is very important to represent the potential and capacity to work. The third aspect is the reliability.
This is important as this character will determine that the person can be trusted or counted for the consistency in work and performance. The fourth aspect is the manner in which the person shows initiative and the action the person is taking. The fifth and the last one is the way the person is cooperating or behaving with others to work together to accomplish mutual organizational goals. The behavioral value as mentioned is going to aid the workers a lot while delivering their services. These characters or value proposition of the workers or members will ensure the trust of people upon the Red Cross Society and they will approach for the help from the organization.
Literature Review of the Theories and Models in Practice

American Red Cross Society is a humanitarian social service organization. The society is committed to provide the relied during the moment of crisis or any kind of emergency situation faced by the people. As mentioned by Schewe and Ferrarotti (2020) the behavioral aspect is important as that will help in providing the best service by the society. It has been seen that many of the volunteers are from the elite background and they are willingly providing their services without any profit or expectation of benefit.
