OHS/WHS Management system
If the organization has well defined policies and procedures which can help the organization to comply with all the work health and safety regulations it becomes easier for the workers to work properly.
The workplace health and safety management system is simpler as compared with the safety related forms and policies which are kept in place and the documented procedures. It is helpful to achieve the measures and content of all the safety documentation which are in managed way.
The occupational health and safety management system can be used to encompass multiple programs for the health and safety. It can include different policies f
or health and safety, systems, records, standards and it can involve different activities and programs for the health and safety in the business processes. We can have the effective management system to improve our ability for identifying hazards and controlling all the risk in the workplace.
Compliant participation
The management work from the seniors can be involved and committed visibly.
The structure and accountability of the organization regarding health and safety are managed properly.
All the responsibilities for the health and safety purposes are clearly assigned at different management levels in the organizations.
It is an essential element to arrange the robust worker consultative.
the consultation can take place with the affected workers who have faced different issues with the health and safety in the workplace.
Consultation arrangements
The consultation can be a 2-way process between the organization and the workers in which:-
we can talk to each other about the matters of health and safety.
Listen and raise different concerns.
Seek and share different information and views with each other.
Consider what the workers have to say about the decisions.
The consultation needs to have:
relevant work about the health and safety information which can be shared with their workers.
The workers will be provided reasonable opportunity for expressing their views inform about the health issues.
Workers are mine to contribute in the decision-making process related with the health and safety matters.
Identify hazards
To find out the hazards in the workplace we can:
Check whether the work environment is able to allow the workers to carry out work without having any risk for the health and safety which can include adequate ventilation, space for an obstructive movement and lightning.
How suitable are the equipment and tools how well they can be maintained?
Is there any change which has taken place in the workplace and it can affect the safety and health of workers?
Try to find out about the health and safety problems which are encountered by the workers during work hours or the incidence which are not reported.
We can perform workout service which can allow us to obtain information about the matters like the workplace bullying, muscular aches and pains which can signal about the hazards.
Assess and Control Risks
The risk assessment includes consideration about what can happen if someone is exposed to the hazard and what can happen in such cases. The risk assessment can help us to determine:
severity of any risk
Find out if there is any existing control measures available to have effective control.
List of actions which can be used to control the risk
urgency of performing the actions required.
The most effective control measure can be used is to eliminate all the hazard and its associated risk from the workplace. The best way to perform this is not to introduce any hazard in the organization for stop for example we can remove any risk of a fall from height by performing all the task at the ground level.
We can eliminate the hazards as it is cheaper and more practical to achieve at the plant stage of any product or place.
Evaluate Management System
Check that the policies and procedures for health and safety measurements are documented, implemented and maintained properly.
A policy should always try to focus over the health and safety purposes in the workplace for all the operations and suites the nature and scale of all the risk present in the organization.
The procedure must be checked which can be used for the workers as the steps to be performed for any specific activity safely and to meet all the policies and legislation of the organization.
Response procedures and the management for emergency are in place.
The procedures and policies are away table for all the staff members either on the notice boards or on the Internet site.
Manage OHS/WHS Management System
We can conduct incident investigation to make sure that there is no immediate or root cause for the unsafe conditions. We can also try to find out the methods which can help us to prevent any similar incident which has already taken place in the past. There are specific requirements for the occupation health and safety regulation to investigate over an incident and document it so that employers are able to meet the requirement.
It is important to perform assessment regularly to understand how well the organization is working when it is related with the health and safety goals which are very important to improve the management system. We can maintain the accurate records after oh management system activities which can provide us useful information to continuously improve the environment of the organization.
Induction Program
We can perform online induction programs for the occupation health and safety management system which aims to provide staff members a clear information about the practices, policies and procedures regarding health and safety in organization.
Another method is to used local area OHS induction program in which we can provide more specific information about the work area and department who will be involved in that area.
Thank You
