Dimensions of Competency refer to the types of skills a person must have to perform effectively in a broad capacity. The dimensions of competency ensure the person being assessed has the skills to perform competently in variety of different circumstances.  To ensure no students are disadvantaged, where required assessors will make Reasonable Adjustments to assessment tasks or processes to accommodate individual needs and record these adjustments. Principles of Assessment means assessment decisions are based on the principles of fairness, flexibility, validity and reliability, which definitions of each of these as outlined below: Fairness - The individual learner’s needs are considered in the assessment process, where appropriate, reasonable adjustments are applied by the RTO to take into account the individual learner’s needs. The Australian Techno Management College informs the learner about the assessment process, and provides the learner with the opportunity to challenge the result of the assessment and be reassessed if necessary. Flexibility - Assessment is flexible to the individual learner by reflecting the learner’s needs, assessing competencies held by the learner no matter how or where they have been acquired and drawing from a range of assessment methods and using those that are appropriate to the context, the unit of competency and associated assessment requirements, and the individual. Validity - Any assessment decision of the RTO is justified, based on the evidence of performance of the individual learner. Validity requires assessment against the unit(s) of competency and the associated assessment requirements covers the broad range of skills and knowledge that are essential to competent performance. It also requires assessment of knowledge and skills is integrated with their practical application and the assessment tasks to be based on evidence that demonstrates that a learner could demonstrate these skills and knowledge in other similar situations. Additionally it requires judgement of competence is based on evidence of learner performance that is aligned to the unit/s of competency and associated assessment requirements. Reliability - Evidence presented for assessment is consistently interpreted and assessment results are comparable irrespective of the assessor conducting the assessment. BSBPMG522 Assessment Tool Page 9 of 35 Version 5: November 2018 Rules of Evidence means that the evidence on which an assessment decision is based is valid, sufficient, authentic and current, with definitions for each as outlined below: Validity - The assessor is assured that the learner has the skills, knowledge and attributes as described in the module or unit of competency and associated assessment requirements. Sufficiency - The assessor is assured that the quality, quantity and relevance of the assessment evidence enable a judgment to be made of a learner’s competency. Authenticity - The assessor is assured that the evidence presented for assessment is the learner’s own work. Currency - The assessor is assured that the assessment evidence demonstrates current competency. This requires the assessment evidence to be from the present or the very recent past. Reasonable adjustment means a modification made to the learning environment, training or assessment methods used to enable students with a disability to access and participate in training on the same basis as those without a disability. The adjustment must be ‘reasonable’ in that it must not impose unjustifiable hardship on the person or Australian Techno Management College. Student plagiarism, cheating and collusion - Students are expected to complete all assessments ethically: without plagiarism, collusion or cheating. Any students suspected of unethical behavior will be managed through the disciplinary procedures which may require the student to attend disciplinary meetings, submit their assessment again, or for repeated acts may be asked to withdraw from the course. Submission, feedback and re-assessment - Students must submit each task with a completed and signed Assessment Task Cover Sheet within timeliness specified by you assessor. Written and theoretical tasks will be assessed within 2 weeks of submission. Each task will be marked as Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory. A unit or module will be marked as Competent once all tasks for the unit or module have been marked as Satisfactory. Where a task is marked as Not Satisfactory, the student will be provided with feedback and be given the opportunity to resubmit/re-attempt the task. Students will receive detailed feedback for each task either in written or verbal form from their assessor. You are required to undertake all questions and obtain satisfactory result for each question to obtain a competent result for Assessment 1. If the students notify Australian Techno Management College that they can-not undertake a written assessment for extenuating circumstances, these questions can be undertaken as an oral assessment. You ware directed by CEO to manage a project involving the leasing of a new building and subsequent relocation of the warehouse. The e-mail mentioned that the Project Sponsor would be your supervisor Ian, the Vice President JS Logistics. Due to business growth JS Logistic has decided to lease a new place which needs to be double size of the current one. At this situation you have to find a new location and relocate the warehouse there. The company has decided to shift from Parramatta to Campbelltown due to quick rise of lease there and considering Campbelltown as cheaper to run the warehouse operation. The JS logistic is the sponsor of this project and your CEO has nominated you as a project manager of this project. The budget for relocation of the ware house has been considered $85,000. The major tasks for this relocation are classified as satisfying legislative and compliance requirements, IT and other equipment set up, consultation with different internal , external relevant stakeholders and recruiting warehouse and admin staffs as the new ware house will have huge work load. It is a time of mixed feelings for both you and your team. On one hand you are very happy with the result. The new warehouse is a great facility and staff and management have praised you for your excellent work. On the other hand you feel sad that her project is over. You love the people have been working with outside of warehousing. You feel that your job as Warehouse Manager is repetitive and you love the challenge of projects. You know that other project team members feel the same way. You feel as though your team have not been on a great journey. You know there are things they could have done better. You wonder if you should get the team together one last time but you are not sure what to say to them. 1.0 Organisational Documents or Resources
Organisational documents or resources which help to define project parameters:
1. Contracts signed with other parties: This includes the agreements or contracts signed with other stakeholders of the organisation such as the supplier of materials required for the project, transporters, external service providers etc. These will help to identify the resources as and when they will be needed and will also assist in cost estimation of the project.
2. Brief of the project: Brief of the project d
escribes about the purpose and scope of the project along with the resources which may be required for the successful accomplishment of the project. Brief of a project is a document which may be prepared with care and read thoroughly to avoid any future problems once the project is commenced.
2.0 Project Brief
Project brief is a document which shall be prepared in order to clearly define the requirements of a client and to determine the assets which may be required to fulfill the requirements being mentioned by the client. As mentioned by Anwar (2019), project brief can be considered an essential document to define the project parameters as the entire design of the project will be based on the project brief. This shall define the objectives, purpose, scope, deliverables, schedule and budget of the project. This shall also define the project milestones and the standards which need to be followed while undertaking the project. The document also discusses briefly about the outcomes of the project. Project brief also describes about the roles and responsibilities of the people involved in the project.
3.0 Questions or Considerations
Two questions and considerations which a manager might consider while managing the extent of roles and responsibilities within a project are:
1. Manager must consider the schedule of the project within which the project has to be delivered to the client. As mentioned by Crossman et al. (2019), project briefs help to manage the roles and responsibilities as people with certain specific skills can be assigned for the job. Manager must also consider the outcomes which are expected from this project.
2. To decide the extent of roles and responsibilities it is important to keep in mind the resources which are available for the project. If ample amount of responses to perform a role efficiently are not available it may become extremely difficult to perform the roles and responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
4.0 Importance of Organisational Objectives
For a project manager, who is in charge of executing the project it is important to consider the organisational objectives along with the individual objectives of the project as these individual objectives are a smaller part of the overall objectives of the project.
Moreover, it is important to consider the organisational objectives to ensure that the standards and other rules and regulations, which may be required to be followed for the project, should match with the rules regulations and overall objectives of the organisations. The objectives of a project should not be beyond the organisational objectives.
5.0 Factors While Allocating Human Resources
While allocating human resources to a project manager must keep into mind several challenges which may come upon during the course of the project until its completition. It is important to allocate and mange the human resources properly throughout the course of a project. Two factors, which the project manager might consider for allocating human resources to a project, are:
1. Purpose and objective of a project: As opined by Ward, Smith, Keen, West and House (2018), it is important to know the purpose and objective of the project so that human resources with the most suitable skills can be allocated for the successful completion of the project.
2. Availability of resources: By knowing the amount o resources available for a project it becomes easy to determine the number of human resources required and the time period for which they may be required.
6.0 Examples of Project Management Tools
1. Gantt chart: this used to track the tasks of a project across the time available to complete the project.
2. Logic network: Logic network indicates the sequence of activities undertaken in project over a course of time.
7.0 Identification of Risks
Two risks of a project, which involves high risk roles are:
1. Safety and security of the employees: It is important to consider the safety and security of persons undertaking high risk roles within a project.
2. Lack of knowledge: The people involved in a project with high risk roles must know how to operate the advanced machinery properly. Lack of knowledge while using machines might prove harmful for the individuals as well as for the machinery.
8.0 WHS Risks
To identify and manage the work health and safety risks it is important to consider the following:
1. Identify the hazards which may be caused by any sort of heavy machinery such as machines making noises, machines with sharp blades and edges or moving forklifts.
2. To manage these risks it is important to analyze the risk and then determine the control measure to avoid potential hazards. Risk control measures should be monitored periodically.
9.0 Budgeting Estimation
Project budgeting refers to determining the total amount of money that is required for a project and is allocated for a project. To prepare a budget of any project, manager of the...
