In the assignment due in Week 5, you defined key portions of your project. Now, it is time to develop a work breakdown structure (WBS)and project schedule for your project.


Note: Please use your project from the Week 5 assignment to complete this assignment.


For this assignment, you will create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). To create your WBS, you may use MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, or any other visual format that allows for graphical elements to be included.






Instructions


Each of the following should be included in yourWBSsubmission:



  1. CreateaWBS which contains graphical elements of the project scope including project, major deliverables, and supporting deliverables. WBS should be easy to read and contain consistent formatting throughout.

  2. Createa depiction of the projectwithin the WBS.


    • One Level 1 is provided describing the complete project.

    • Three Level 2sareprovided describing major deliverables.

    • Three Level 3sareprovided describing supporting deliverables.

    • Two Level 4s providing the lowest manageable responsibility level


  3. For each of the identifieddeliverables (identifiedinthe four levels fromitem #2), createa project schedule containingall activities from levels 1–4.Each activity should containa start and end date and list resources required to complete the project.

  4. Provide a minimum of three pieces of information that need to be communicated to stakeholders. For each of the three pieces—which creates an example of a project network—you should address who will be targeted; when theywillreceive thecommunication;what will becommunicated; and how it will be communicated.


  5. The specific course learning outcomeassociated with this assignment is:



    • Develop a project plan including the critical elements of project scope, priorities, work breakdown structure (WBS), communication plan, and a project network to ensure effective implementation.

The scopes of works under the project are:
S1- Site mobilization and preparations including all temporary access provisions and Site establishment.
S2 - Clearing of site and setting out for roads and lots.
S3 - Excavation works including cut and fill and compaction of subgrade.
S4 - Supply and lay of hardcore and road kerbs.
S5 - Construction of drains and covers including road crossing and construction of absorption pits.
S6 - Supply and installation of necessary pipes and fittings, testing and commissioning of approximately 1.0 km of 100 mm DI pipe, 0.7km of 150mm DI pipe, 0.25m of HDPE 63mm, including construction of chambers.
S7 - Supply and installation of electrical and telecommunication cables including draw pits.
S8 - Road finishing works and asphalt works.
S9 - Construction of footpath and retaining wall.
S10 - Landscaping works including road marking.
S11- Construction of Bus-Layby.
