Customers previous experience influence their buying behaviour
A previous sales experience with a sales person or the overall sales experience has a huge effect on the buyer decision making process. Customers tend to rely on their previous experience to do a repeat business with the company. For example, A buyer visits a clothing store, if the salesperson is not attentive to the customer’s needs, say helping with the size or informing about the options available (Hoskins, 2016). The customer would not go for a repeat purchase with the company as they will remember having a bad experience on their previous visit and would look for other options available.
Own level of trust vs. scepticism in sales encounters
To my own experience companies relying on fancy words making big commitments are fluke in their nature of business. I would like salespeople to understand the need and provide a solution only if they have one rather than making commitments which are actually not met. This would create a bad experience and the transaction can be a burden not meeting the expected standard.
