BMIS 650 Discussion Assignment Instructions BMIS 650 OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT The student will complete 2 Discussions over the duration of this course. Each will be completed over a period of 2 modules and will consist of 3 parts: key topic, thread, and replies. The Discussions allow you the opportunity to apply what you have learned from the module Learn items and quiz. The student will post one thread of at least 700 words plus the associated annotated bibliography by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the following module. The student must then post 2 replies of at least 200 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the assigned module. The thread and replies must be written in current APA format in a substantive manner and must not contain spelling and/or grammar errors. Post the topic you wish to reserve in the subject line of your thread. You may choose the same topic as a peer, but the topics must be addressed from different vantage points (perspectives). This section must be at least 100 words. 2. Comparison: Compare your research with what you have studied during the module in which the key topic/thread is assigned. Note differences or commonalities about your key topic, providing evidence that you have extended your understanding of this topic beyond the textbook readings. This is an opportunity for you to cite the additional articles you originally researched. This section must be at least 200 words. 3. Article Summary: In your own words, provide a clear and concise summary of the article you selected. This section must be at least 200 words. 4. Biblical Integration: Include at least 3 appropriate biblical references. Explain the relevance of your key topic to God’s law and how it can be applied in a Christian context. This section must be at least 100 words. 5. Application: Specifically state how your key topic has been applied to real-world businesses or describe the potential your key topic has to influence today’s business world. Your application must possess a professional rationale that demonstrates the significance of your key topic. This section must be at least 100 words. 6. Annotated Bibliography: Cite the articles you researched in current APA format. An annotation must accompany each citation. Each annotation will consist of a descriptive and evaluative paragraph that is at least 100 words. The annotations are designed to help your classmates in their understanding of your topic. Introduction
Job shop process planning is a structured plan which transforms an engineering prototype into a product. This product goes through mass production system which involves use of information and sequencing of facilities and machineries. Process planning, scheduling and design are independent tasks. The design of planning process is also referred as process layout in which departments, equipment, or workcentres are arranged according to their function. The main advantage pf process layout is euipments are generally used. For instance if one part is broke down then the production will not halth in between. It allows flexibility to manage dofferent products in small batch size.
Comparison
According to textbook process planning involves organizing of tasks to perform work. In job shop the tasks are not performed at one place. It companies bring their employees with different skills sets togethers at the platform of virtual organizations. Job shops offer different range of outputs in possible way like batches, which can be done through individualized processing with in and out of functionally specialized departments. Identical equipments are present with skilled labours to produce customized outputs for customers.
In this changing world the digitization of process through big data driven interventions has helped the network of job-shops in value creation. Through Internet of Manufacturing (IoM) the integration of product life cycle management and operational robustness can be achieved. Data analysis can be done through smart applications which supports predictive maintenances and smart planning process. they help in diagnosing faults at technical level with their deeper impacts and use data integration, sensors, analysis and finally the improvement in design to optimize the production.
