After performing extensive research on McDonalds as a company, there has been tremendous increase in business and industries with the advent of globalisation. e of this assignment, I am working on McDonalds, which is one of the most popular Fast-Food business in the world. Indeed, process of globalisation has profound impact on how business of McDonalds has unfolded over the period of time. McDonald has marked a huge success because of how it has leveraged globalisation and captured international customer base.
McDonalds as an organisation was able to manifest itself because of globalisation. It was able to enter new geographies, capture new market and has grown tremendously fast and channelize huge footfall. McDonalds pivoted its strategy from being into a Fast-Food Business into Franchise Business. Therefore, it is not only in the business of fast food but also a franchise business. That is the primary reason, this organisation is able to scale all across the world. There are different campaigns that McDonalds works in order to market its product in different geographies based on specific cultural aspects. Initially, lot of marketing campaigns and even company's strategy where McDonald's has miserably failed to communicate the intended message to the target audience. Indeed, McDonalds had few marketing blunders when it comes to expansion strategy. For instance, McDonalds while entering in the Asian markets like China and India had faced tremendous backslash and hatred. This was because both these countries have different eating preferences and dietary habits as compared to the native Americans, which is the home country for the organisation. In Indian market, people worship cow and therefore any one presenting them a beef burger is nothing more than a murder to them. Secondly, people in Indian geography are accustomed to have spicy food and not boiled or simple sautéed salad. Thus, the entry of McDonald's in these markets was major disappointment as people refrained to try this foreign brand. Nevertheless, brand reviewed its marketing campaigns and pivoted its strategy.
Technology
By the virtue of advancement technology, McDonalds have gone through many significant transformations. The value proposition and customer marketing have been heavily shifted to various social media platforms and development of exhaustive applications for the same. For instance, one of the most popular products of the organisation was McDonalds's Happy Meal which contained a toy for the children. At its inception, the toys were first designed with mechanical moving parts that simulated the toy character and its signature movement. Now, the organisation offers digital gaming experience with their toys. For instance, the Rocking Horse. The audio-video experience has been enhanced with the incorporation of technology. As a child incorporates horse there is a rocking action of the toy comes into action.
