Sharon Munroe, 26 year old caucasian female, has a history of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) for the past 6 years. Medical history includes, cessation of menses several years ago, 20 kg weight gain over the past 5 years, increasing hirsuitism, acne and 2 previous miscarriages and infertility.

You begin a full physical assessment of Sharon. Here is some of the information you collect:

• Sharon is 172 cm tall and weighs 96 kg, giving her a BMI of 32.


• Heart sounds are normal: S1 and S2 heard clearly


• Lung fields sound clear to bases


• Abdomen soft, no masses, bladder non-palpable
