Regarding Social Stratification in the United States and comparing this to other cultures,
what is the difference between a “caste” system and a “class” system of social stratification?


Here are the social stratifications in the U.S. class system:Upper Class, Upper Middle Class, Lower Middle Class, Working Class, Working Poor, and Underclass.The homeless make up a social class beneath the social class ladder and are very much a part of our society.


Read the differences among the social classes in our society and describe how the recent recession in our country has had an impact on the social class stratification in our society. See Chapter 9: Page 186of your book.
