ng to the given scenario, a prototype device has been delivered by the hardware team that consist of USB port by which eBooks can be loaded with a keyboard attached with it. In order to develop a project for eBooks, the project manager has organized giant meetings with almost every stakeholder. With the final discussion with each stakeholder, a final product specification with requirements has been finalized. The main features that are included in this product specification are capturing marketing statistics for the publishers, an Internet Storefront for the purchase of the book and some innovative functions for the author to preview as well as to edit the book and streamlining the publishing process. In order to make this project a success include project iteration, smart, trained team. According to the Standish Group, small teams are more efficient as compared to large teams. Involvement of highly proficient members in the team can help in increasing the chance of success and also leads to optimal costs. The team diversity is the important component in the project team. Continuous delivery of small sub processes can help in making the project success (CHAOS MANIFESTO, 2013). Also, the leadership quality of the project manager will manage the project and the team very effectively. As per the CHAOS Report, the progress tackling of the project manager is very important. The project with skilled manpower has approximately 38% success rates whereas the projects with unskilled team prompts 60% projects to be challenged whereas 23% has been failed (CHAOS REPORT, 2015).
2. In the Scrum guide it recommends an ideal team size. There are numerous studies on project failure that sight communication as a primary factor. Explain the link between these two statements supporting your argument with references to Agile visionaries, communication theory & social psychology.
According to a research, it has been found the if a project has higher communication frequency, the project will be more productive. According to Brooke’s law, addition of manpower in a software development project can make a project later. It has been found that team efficiency mainly depends on the interaction between team members of the project. According to a study, team efficiency has been found at peak when the size of the team varies from 3 to 7 members and it decreases when the team size goes beyond 9 members.
The main reason for the failure of the project is lack of communication among team members or it can be miscommunication. When a project has higher scrum team, it will prompt bad communication as number of communication channels will increase geometrically but not linearly. By Brooke's law, if a project has three members, it will have three communication channels whereas a five-membered project team will have ten channels which are twice the number of persons. On the other hand, if a project has six members' project team, it will have fifteen communication channels.
Consequently, the team with a large number of persons, it will be difficult to impart and share data among the team members. Hence, the size of the team hugely impacts both efficiency as well as the productivity of the teams. Every team member in the Scrum team must have visibility of what other members are doing. As the human mind has some limitations, in that case, the small scrum team is the best option (Lalsing & Kishnah, 2012).
3. In 2016 Scrum Values were added to the Scrum guide, almost 20 years after Scrum was introduced. Speculate on the reasoning as to why they were added. Research and comment on if they have found widespread adoption.
The Scrum team is embedded with values of commitment, courage, focus, openness as well as respect, the main scrum pillars like transparency, inspection and adaption become animated and develop trust for everybody. The Scrum Team individuals learn and analyze those qualities as they work with the Scrum events, roles and relics. Effective utilization of Scrum relies upon individuals getting...
