1) Examine the budgeted expenses. List and discuss circumstances or events that could make it difficult to stick to the budget limits.
The budget that could be problematic and is really difficult to stick to the budget limits is the ‘out of pocket medical’. The out of pocket medical of only $38 is not enough for a household consisting of 3 (1 parent and 2 children) to cover the expenses in case of illness or accident. Although there is health insurance but the health insurances does not covers every diseases or cases.
The second budget limit which can make the situation of the family difficult is the item ‘other necessities’. The amount of this expense is although $138 but it is not understandable the areas which are covered under this expenses. As per (Cohen 139) the rent and utilities, food, child care, transportation and health insurances are covered under the expenses for the household, yet it is other necessity which is unknown the expenses it covers. We can assume that it might be used to cover the expenses like provisions for the daycare and school of the children; diverse kind of entertainment tools and utilities which are very indispensable for the maturity of the child and the expenses incurred for the children to get them socialize with the community. All these expenses require some amount which needs to be funded by the parents.
2) List and discuss possibilities where the budget could be cut. Add what possible barriers to cutting expenses exist.
There are hardly any items in the list of expenses which could be cut. This is because there are two children in the household and could be risky is any major illness or diseases occur to these children. This is because there are two children in the household and their medical expenses are not sufficient enough to cover three people’s cost in case of any medical emergency.
