For ICTTEN420 you would be required to demonstrate: · install internetwork according to design specification Assessment Event number 3 of 3 Instructions for this assessment This is a clustered skill-based assessment and will be assessing you on your ability to demonstrate skills required in all the units listed in this assessment. This assessment is in six parts: 1. Role play scenarios – prepare for installing an internetwork 2. Practical – install network according to topology design and troubleshoot common issues 3. Practical – implement WAN links and troubleshoot WAN connection issues 4. Role play – notify client of completion of tasks 5. Practical – restore worksite to safe condition 6. Part 1: Role play scenarios – prepare for installing an internetwork In this section, you are required to demonstrate how you would prepare to work in this environment by considering work health and safety as well as environmental requirements provided to you. Pretend that your current lab room environment is an actual server room environment where you will need to install and configure network equipment for your client ROI. In your role play demonstration, you are also required to communicate any identified safety hazards and implement risk control measures in consultation with your supervisor. Your assessor will provide you with the relevant equipment and required components in the lab environment. Your assessor will appoint a suitable person to act as your supervisor, with whom you need to communicate during your role-play demonstration. Scenario 1: Prepare for work Demonstrate the task of preparing for work in the server room environment according to the WHS guidelines and environmental requirements provided to you. a) Read the following organisational guidelines of a fictitious organisation called Red Opal Innovations (ROI). i. ROI_Scenario ii. ROI_Job_brief iii. ROI_WHS_Policy iv. ROI_ServerRoom_Policy b) Your demonstration must include the following: i. Evidence of recognising and following at least two WHS procedures ii. Evidence of recognising following at least two environmental requirements iii. Scenario 2: Identify safety hazards and implement risk control measures Demonstrate the task of identifying safety hazards in the simulated server room environment and implement risk control measures in consultation with your supervisor. Note: ROI recommend that all identified hazards in a server room environment should be documented along with any recommended risk control measures using the ROI_Risk_Identification&Control_form.docx Your demonstration must include the following: a) Evidence of identifying at least two safety hazards in the current work environment. b) Record the identified risks and recommended control procedures in the ROI_Risk_Identification&Control_form.docx according to server room policy – hazard identification and risk control guidelines. c) Discussion with supervisor to obtain approval for recommended risk control measures. Your discussion should demonstrate your ability to: i. Negotiate with your supervisor on the risk control measures to be implemented. Ensure that you draw attention of you supervisor to any issues that may affect self or others. ii. Use of listening and questioning skills to confirm understanding of requirements d) Evidence of implementing risk control measures for the identified hazards. Scenario 3: Determine the scope of internetwork and obtain necessary details Demonstrate the task of collaborating with your supervisor to determine the scope of the internetwork and other required information. Your demonstration must include the following: a) Collaborate with your supervisor to determine details about the nature and scope of the internetwork. (Ask at least two relevant questions) b) Evidence of obtaining the following: i. operating instructions, ii. manuals, iii. hardware and software testing methodologies c) Consult your supervisor to ensure the task is coordinated effectively with others involved at the worksite.
