e expectancy violation is used as intimate level in the given moving day scenario; the friend is an intimate source where it as clearly recognized that the help will be needed on the moving day (Inyang et al.). The objectives of the communication were clear initially. However, the forgetfulness of the friend in the scenario serves the standpoint of frustration. Not only he remained absent on moving day for help, but also a day after the event, he excitedly mentioned about his meeting with someone, which is not relevant to the course of relieving the other friend from frustration. He should have been apologetic and must have taken stance to explain why he was absent on moving day. The intimacy of two close friends is challenged in this way. The proximity of their relationship now stands at a public distance, as per the observation of their understanding each other.
Part Two
The conflict management strategy that has been used in the given scenario is to void any further dispute. Avoiding the direct contexts of the conversation is applied in the short and crispy dialogue with the friend. The opening section of the conversation serves as the potential indicator of the frustration and disappointment as the two strong emotions emerging from the call of the friend. I could respond in that way because of the fact that I was completely exhausted by managing the entire moving alone.
I had expected that my friend would join me to help but he did not. I would also like to prefer that through nonverbal cues and expressions, I would ensure that my friend simply realizes his mistake and to do so, I use the technique to avoid his direct questions. Upon being asked how I was feeling, I simply quoted that I am rather engaged by taking another day off which is totally upon my friend.
