Abraham Lincoln has been instrumental in functioning as an effective leader by standing the test of time as he demonstrated the aspects relating to following characteristics which provided a framework for people to ponder upon.
Lincoln was a confident leader as this trait inherently embedded within him. This can be conceived by the case of William Henry Seward who happens to exist as the main rival who later became the secretary of the state. Seward turned out to betray Lincoln but still the latter did not be submissive in any condition and was very much self-aware and conscious and confident pertaining to the decisions he made. Lincoln had the uncanny ability for understanding the way he had communicated his anger concerning the people who were around him and who played a large part to his success. As observed by Johnson (2018) there have been instances when Lincoln had this habit of writing a letter he never ever expressed his views in a verbal manner but always wrote it on paper. He did not allow the conflict to fester by expressing it blatantly but with composure always communicated his thoughts.
Another aspect concerning Lincoln’s greatest leadership traits happens to be his sense relating to integrity as well as his strong belief concerning his principles. As opined by Goodwin (2019) though there was situation when he was willing to compromise; still there were those surrounding him who were confident relating to core principles that did not change from one day to another by depending upon the circumstances surrounding him as well as that of his perceived popularity relating to the time. Still it is his leadership that is instrumental in inspiring the dedication, loyalty, as well as confidence pertaining to the people around him (Phillips, 2009).
