Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD) is a critical disease of the digestive
system where the liquid content from the stomach goes against the flow to the oesophagus and causes injury to the food pipe. The pathophysiology of this disease is complex and generally involves the changes in reflux exposure and epithelial resistance to the back flow of the stomach liquids into the food pipe. GORD starts happening and the symptoms are shown in a person when the oesophageal mucosa is exposed to gastric contents of the stomach for longer periods and if not diagnosed at the right time than it can lead to oesophagitis.

The four common symptoms or clinical manifestations of GORD are Nausea, burning sensation in the stomach after means generally, sore gum and pains and tooth decay and excess salivation which may also include small food particles coming out from the mouth.
