From 2016 to 2019, we gathered information from Yahoo Finance. The financial variables have recognized a continuous growth. The value of the total assets significantly rose over time which ensures the growth of the financial strength of the company. However, the liabilities have also grown over this period with a subsequent increase in the total equity. The sales has even shown a positive growth rate which is also reflected on the growth of the Net Income over time from 2016 to 2019. The financial figures well accomplish the fact that Amazon has shown an effective growth in the discussed period.
Results and Discussion
The current ratio has comparatively shown lower growth from 2016 to 2019. The current ratio effectively focuses on the fact that Amazon can pay its debts. It is obvious to contemplate that if the value of the current ratio is less than 1 then the company might have effective difficulty in paying off the debt. Over the time period, it has been recognized that the value of the current ratio is above 1 from the period 2016 to 2019. The quick ratio focuses on the capability of the company to pay for the current liabilities without selling the inventories. A higher ratio indicates a better position for the company. On the other hand, the cash ratio illustrates that accompany can effectively lookout to develop a short-term requirement. A cash ratio ranging from 0.5 to 1 is effective and is the preferred cash ratio for any company. It is effective from the table that the cash ratio is within the limited range and hence it significantly ensures a good financial measure of the company. However, the ideal quick ratio should be 1:1. But in this case over the time period from 2016 to 2019 the quick ratio for Amazon was less than 1. This indicates that Amazon was unable to pay out its full liabilities in the short term. However, the cash ratio is in a good condition ranging between 0.5 and 0.6.
